The exterior of this trailer is very nice overall it does have some minor dents and flaws. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft great aluminum which can be polished up to a mirror like shine. It does have one dent, which you can see in the photo. Some windows are missing, but overall the structure is in good condition and ready to be restored. Has original cast-iron hitch coupler with 2 5/16 inch ball. Coupler is in working condition. The interior is mostly original with the exception that the original appliances are missing. Floor covering. Mostly particle board but some tiles in fair to poor condition. No table. bathroom and separate bedroom that sleeps four. No furnishing's included. Has the original birch paneling which is in pretty decent condition. It will probably need to be sanded and re-varnished. There are a couple of sheets of birch paneling on the ceiling in the rear bedroom that will need replaced. All of the electric is original. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use. Has tired that you can use to bring home, but I would suggest have all tires inspected. Has some of the original copper plumbing and some newer stuff. I did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked waterlines but did see some previous repairs. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use. This vintage Spartan is not perfect but it does have a lot going for it. It is what is referred to as a “Double Ender” where the exterior of the trailer looks the same in the front and in the rear. If you can do most of the restoration work yourself, you can end up owning a nice vintage Spartan without having a fortune in it.

This is a cool little camper I picked up a while back, I started on restoration then got sidetracked (happens to all of us, right?). I have been looking a campers and RV's for some time and this the only one I have ever seen like this! I have not been able to find any information on the company that made this camper, other than Mfg's label on door. I had to put a number in the year box when I was listing (it is not correct, but could be??), so I am estimating this was made in the 50's, possibly early 60's? It is pretty much complete as far as I can tell, it did not come with canvas when I bought it, so it will have to be made from scratch. The interior is disassembled at the moment. I had the top re-gelcoated and the arms that lift the top painted and that's as far as I got. This camper pulls extremely well, even as light as it is, didn't bounce or wiggle! I (like a lot of people) have too many projects and trying to narrow them down, I really hate to sell this one! Hope someone can get this little beauty back to its former glory and enjoy it!

1950 Spartan Spartanette 30' trailer, fully restored and self-contained. All original wood restored and used throughout the trailer interior. During the restoration, two Spartans were purchased and the best components from each trailer was used to create this trailer. Very likely the nicest Spartanette you will ever find. Too much invested to list and would cost over $100K and over a year to duplicate. Featured on the cover of a booked dedicated to travel trailers, titled "Silver Palaces" by Douglas Keister (I have included a cover image below). Trailer was just recently inspected by MEL trailers in Orange, CA and is ready to use immediately. Can be viewed at Pismo Coast Village RV Park vintage trailer rally this weekend (May 15 & 16) in Pismo Beach, CA. Serious inquiries only please. Images and link to photo album below. Update 5/15/15: We have had a few questions regarding the heating and sleeping capacity. The trailer has a forced air heating system that is ducted to the rear and front of the trailer. All the roof vents are retrofitted with temperature controlled vent fans to control the inside temperature of the trailer. The trailer interior stays nice and warm in cold weather and nice and cool in warm weather. Regarding sleeping capacity, the front dining table converts into a bed and can sleep two in addition to the two beds in the rear of the trailer. I have added a few pictures of the heating system below. The trailer is self contained. The water heater and forced air heating unit was fitted under the passenger side rear bed. The other bed features the fresh water storage tanks. I will post pictures shortly of this work, it was done very well. The trailer also has 3 Optima deep cycle batteries on board with a gauge panel to show the current charging and life status. The refrigerator in the kitchen can run on batteries, full time power or gas.

Vintage 36' 1950 Spartan Imperial Mansion Travel Trailer-Calif. This would be great to fix up for vintage trailer camping, an extra guest room or fantastic to live in. It has alot of potential. Look up oldtrailer.com/vintage-spartan-manor-trailer-pictures.html or oldtrailer.com and type in 1951 Spartan Trailer. So you can see what you can do with this trailer. I call this the long, long, pink trailer. But you can strip the paint off and polish it or re-paint it. Lot's and lot's of potential. The serial/model no. is: 36--50-85 According to the serial number. This is a 36' it is a 1950 model and it was the 85th one made that year. It is a Spartan imperial Mansion Towing ball is a 2". The jack works great. You will need to bring your own longer than 33' aux. lights. no towing lights on this baby at all. We just towed this more than 20 miles on bumpy dirt roads. But the tires do need to be replaced. I thin they could go a very short distance. They are holding air, but do have cracks in them. I will give you a Bill of Sale. No title. The body is in super good condition. I saw only 2 dents and you can seethem in the pictures. It is by the front door. And there is a trim piece missing above the tires on the front door side. Most of the windows are missing or broken. Both round door windows are there. And the 2 side windows in the back are there. No keys for the entry doors. It is missings vents and the other 2 are missing parts. The floor is solid. 760-364-4115

Make: Spartan AircraftModel: Royal MansionBuild Year: 1950 Configuration: Great Room, Full size Kitchen, Large Breakfast nook, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom Interior Size: 264 livable square feet Length: 31 Ft (cab) 33 Ft (overall) Origin/Port of call: Sierra Nevada Mountains (recently relocated to Arizona) HD Video link of Trailer: http://youtu.be/R6qVMD4KcxQ For your consideration... let this 100% original Spartan travel trailer take you back to a very unique time in America! This Atomic-era mid-century home reflects modern taste with its unadorned machine era style and modernity. Warm and inviting curved birch wood interior displays a very high level of craftsmanship. The highly functional minimalism layout has an open floor plan that feels spacious and easy to navigate. History: The Spartan all aluminum exterior Aircraft's were the basis of inspiration for the Spartan Mansion line. The famous Spartan Executive Model 7W aircraft was one of the most famous built by Spartan Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The same aeronautical genius was applied in the concept and building techniques of the lightweight Royal Mansion. Like its aeronautical predecessor, it was designed and built for durability and trouble-free performance. This one is still 100% functional and will cater to all of ones needs on and off the grid. This Mansion was one of the very first Royal Mansions built in 1950 at the Tulsa, OK Spartan Aircraft plant. This is one of the only remaining original Spartan's in immaculate original condition, located in the dry Southern United States. Our research has only uncovered 3 sold like it over the last few years. This trailer obtains the multi-tiered split windows throughout, 4 roof top ventilation shafts, two rear quarter rolling windows, forward slating nose, elegantly down curved tail-end and nearly perfect exterior and interior. This beauty will easily become the envy of all Spartan Aficionado's who lay eyes. The great ones like this quickly disappear from the US. when purchased by off-shore collectors of rare Americana. Hollywood & Spartans: Hollywood has always had a love affair with Spartan Trailer's since they seem to scream, ''I HAVE ARRIVED'' ! Actors and Actresses like Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz always had one on set. Even today's Actress Jane Hallwoorth owns a Mansion that travels around with her on and off set. These trailers are making a huge comeback and prices will only continue to go up as it gets harder to find them in original condition. Scope of Refresh: The refresh of the trailer was mostly done to the mechanical drive-ability and tow safety of the trailer. Even though this was the most modern trailer produced in 1950, it needed to be gone through and serviced with more modern materials. The exterior aluminum body, the sub frame, all the distressed interior birch wood and interior trim, cabinetry and some appliances are all 100% original from 1950. We worked very hard to keep it original so that it's unique 50's style and feel would show through and it does! Interior: The interior has all its factory original birch wood from floor to ceiling. It still obtains all the aluminum fittings in the windowsills, skylights, sky light caps. All original art deco style hinges and cabinetry hard-wear. This trailer still has its two ORIGINAL birch wood screen doors, they are so rare and beautiful! Kitchen obtains a one piece aluminum double sink, four burner LP gas stove with large oven below. Upgraded 3-way fridge that runs on 12v/120v/LP Gas. Classic, original one piece sconces light up each wall through out the trailer. Large "yacht" style fluorescent lighting found under each cabinet to create a very soothing low light disbursement at night. Original glass lantern over top the kitchen nook seating area that runs on LP Gas; helps light the forward area when boon-docking. Kitchen nook seating has been re-skinned with new, yet period correct materials and obtains it original cotton stuffing and springs that gives it that comfortable and unique 50's dinner feel! Open Floor Plan: This unique Royal Mansion obtains a completely open forward living space. Walking towards the rear you will observe a beautifully curved art-deco style cocktail/ mixing table; its multi-tiered shelving allows for displaying pictures and your favorite liquors. Walking further to the rear takes you into a spacious retro kitchen on the left and large 50's diner style seating with fire engine red seats. As you walk past the kitchen area this leads you to a private sliding door; upon opening, you enter a small hallway that leads to the bathroom entrance on left and further past you enter into a very spacious and very uniquely shaped private rear quarters with its own private entrance/exit. The large and spacious room's allow the new owner(s) the opportunity to furnish the trailer as they see fit. Design it however you want... Need dinner party space, no problem! Need to sleep 6+ people, no problem. Use furniture from your private mid-century collection or find pieces from a local boutique to furnish your trailer and make it into YOUR own very special and unique space. Windows: All windows and bug screens are 100% original with the exception to the three Plexiglas windows in front. These windows have been replaced with new modern plexi-glass material and new rubber gaskets. All windows open and close as they should. Floor: We installed beautiful German wood flooring throughout the trailer that compliments the light birch wood walls and ceiling. Between the sub-floor and the wood floor we added a high-tech weather barrier that will reflect heat and cooling to retard temperature fluctuations. The under carriage has not been compromised and is still sealed from front to back. Its original aluminum cladding/ barrier is still fully intact and will continue to protect the undercarriage as it has since new. Bathroom: Bathroom is a very unique one piece all aluminum wet bath configuration. The bathroom interior has been repainted with a special wet bath paint that resists marking and chipping. The lavatory has a tall toilet, sink, ventilation system, window, shower head, floor drain, over head storage compartment. On-board Systems:All fresh, black and gray water lines still have good integrity when tested under pressure. The wall electrical receptacles and lighting are functional and have tested positive for integrity. There is a modern upgraded 6 gallon hot water heater that runs on LP gas. Condition: This Spartan has been gone through professionally and it is ready to be lived or traveled in. Currently configured for park use only as there are no black or gray water holding tanks. Holding tanks can easily be added for extended or off-grid use. Exterior: Spartan Aircraft travel trailers obtain the thickest gauge aluminum ever used in a production travel trailer. Only the highest and purest grade aluminum was used in its production. This type of aluminum is usually reserved for aircraft use only. We recently commissioned a company based in Southern California that is very well known in the Spartan community for professionally polishing aluminum exteriors. At roughly 350+ man hours of polishing, 6+ cuts to expose the beautifully reflective aluminum material. Lastly it was carefully polished by a four man team using a special orbital tool to work the metal into a mirror like reflective sheen. This polishing process is a must for Spartan's to simply stand out from among the rest, and the results are breath taking. We believe this to be a rare and highly desirable Spartan Mansion and due to its original condition, we think you will agree that this is a very unique and special Spartan trailer. With any trailer there are always things you will want to add or change to make it your own. You must have an open mind when engaging in a purchase of this type. When you own a piece of rolling American history, your taking on a responsibility and a lifestyle you simply can not obtain through any modern trailer in existence, no matter how much you spend. So as an owner, be prepared to answer lots of friendly questions at the gas station from interested on lookers, plenty of thumbs up from passers buy and picture after picture snapped from cars full of smiling passengers as they drive by. 1950 Silver streak clipper 18 footer , I'm the second owner and have had it for about 17 years now mostly stored indoors , it has always lived in California . It is an absolutely beautiful piece of history from when things were made to last forever and had UNBEATABLE style ! I've personally only seen 2 others of this small size , I saw a registry list of 5 of these worldwide , this one has the lowest VIN # 2000 . It is ready to go camping , put in a museum or whatever you would like to do with it . It is in beautiful condition , I had a custom stainless galley installed about 10 years ago , stainless sink and new water system and stainless fridge also . It has couches in front that convert to a small bed and a big bed in the back that converts to a nice table . All the wood cabinets are original . It is very simple , beds , sink , fridge , closet and cabinets . It has a very nice cow catcher on the front to keep the aluminum from being damaged if it gets jack knifed , also accessory arrow turn signals in back and 1947 Ca. trailer license plate with 1950 tab. I have the original 1950 pink slip also . The floor was super solid when I got it , I had it polished about 10 years ago as you can see in the pictures with my black Lincoln when it had the dark plexi windows still . I put new Lexan windows in their place , had the bearings done new tires etc. I used to rent it to the studios for commercials etc. about 10 years ago and charged $1000 per day . When we go camping , I pick up the front and position it by hand it is so light . I've towed it with many old cars and trucks that I've had over the years , it's so light anything will pull it . Don't ask the reserve , just bid what you will pay . I require full payment by bank wire transfer within 3 days . Sold as is , ask any and all questions and complete all due diligence before bidding . I reserve the right to end the auction if a deal is struck . I can tow it to L.A. or anywhere within 2 hours of Palm Desert Ca. after full payment if you wish to export it or just need it delivered . On Sep-04-14 at 16:56:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Wow , Thank you for all of the interest in my trailer ! Several people have asked for the dimensions , I went and measured it without any help so it was a little hard to be exact . It looked like 18' 4" overall length including the back bumper and tounge ( so the body itself is about 16 feet) about 8 ' 6" in height and 7' 6" wide . I might be off a little bit but not much . I also wanted to add that I knew this trailer was very special when I found it 20 years ago , so special that I knocked on the owner's door for about 3 years before he would put a price on it or even consider selling it . When he finally did , it was about twice what I thought it was worth , knowing that I wouldn't be able to find another one I went back and he was shocked when I paid him in cash and hooked it up ! I had a 22 foot Silver streak about 10 years ago and it was a really nice trailer , but this 18 foot size is so uncommon and easy to park/store/maneuver and just looks so cool !
