Our 1976 GMC Palm Beach Motorhome has had practically every system or major component replaced or upgraded in the past 10 years. In 2011, we spared no expense in replacing the entire drivetrain starting with a balanced and blueprinted Mondello 455. Dyno tested at 300 h.p. and 510 ft/lbs of torque at 3,000 rpm, (peak h.p. is 385 @ 4,600 rpm) it includes roller rockers and lifters for today's reduced-zinc motor oils. A high-flow water pump, re-cored radiator, and finned aluminum trans and diff covers keeps everything cool. As long as the engine was out, we went ahead with a new transmission from Manny Trovao, the premier builder of TH425 transmissions for GMC motorhomes. A new 3.55 final drive, Springfield Ignition distributor, ceramic coated headers and a new stainless steel exhaust system rounded out the $20,000 package. We have since put about 8,000 trouble-free miles on it.Over the 10 years of ownership, we've freshened and upgraded much of the interior. While not as original as we would like, we always strived to adhere to the funky 70's feel while tastefully updating. Darker green cut-pile carpet replaced the bright green shag. We used green-tint cork flooring in the main areas that is easy to sweep out but still muffles road noise. The upholstery is an easy-to-clean outdoor furniture print. Removal of the original range necessitated a new dark green countertop. A microwave sits where the original oven did and the cooktop was removed for more counter space. A new Dometic RV fridge replaced the old one, finished in wood laminate that is indistinguishable from the adjacent original. Power front seats were added, as well as extra gauges, and new windshields were added in the cockpit. An extra set of Alcoa 16" aluminum wheels are included in addition to the original 16-1/2" original wheels and hubcaps. Exterior paint is all original except the lower half of the driver's side. The furnace replacement required cutting new ventilation holes and patching the original ones. An outside shower was added at the same time and fresh paint covers these improvements. New in 2006: Upholstery, cork/carpet flooring, front power seats, fridge, water tank, furnace, sink, faucet, countertop, porcelain toilet, headliner, tires, 4-bag rear suspension system, rebuilt steering box, new windshield, all 6 wheel bearings. New in 2007: Roof pod, blinds, stereo, subwoofer. New in 2008: 3.55 final drive, Ragusa final drive cover, new water heater. New in 2009: Ragusa transmission pan, 2" receiver hitch, new cruise control module. New in 2010: Recored radiator, Flowcool high-flow engine water pump, Auto Meter gauges. New in 2011: Mondello 455 engine, carburetor, Springfield ignition, transmission, ceramic coated headers, stainless steel exhaust. New in 2012: Ragusa step, roof A/C unit, engine A/C compressor. New in 2013: Onan 4kw generator, outdoor speakers and subwoofer. New in 2014: second roof A/C unit. New in 2016: freshwater pump, CV boots.

We've adored this motor home for the past 8 years and now we're selling it to start our daughter's college funds! About 13,000 were built thru the mid-70's, and about 8000 of these campers are still on the road. This coach was made completely by GMC, from the chassis and the drive train to the fiberglass body and interior. We bought it with 82,400 miles from a retired gentleman who re-did everything short of a frame-off RV restoration. The updated interior is in perfect shape and has never been smoked in. It has 94807 miles on it now. Sleeps 5 comfortably. The Oldsmobile 455 engine powers the Toronado front-wheel drive train with a surprising amount of power. Easily climbs hills on the highway, usually without the 4-speed auto transmission shifting. The interior has been updated and just about EVERYTHING works as it should. The 4 KW Onan Generator runs great, but stopped producing electricity on a road trip last year. It probably needs new brushes or something simple like that, but I have not had the time to dive into it.-Clean title in hand.-6 brand new tires and professional wheel polish in May 2013. We always keep covers on the wheels/tires when parked.-7 aluminum Alcoa wheels (6 on the road, 1 spare).-New brake rotor and wheel bearing on front axle - passenger side.-HUGE full-length Zip-Dee patio awning on the passenger side, and we're including a matching uninstalled full-length "window" awning for the driver's side.-Full gas tanks (about 50 gallons).-2 new chassis batteries in April 2011.-Smart charger on house batteries that maintains battery integrity (doesn't over-charge or let voltage get too low).-Coaxial cable run throughout the interior so you can hook up to cable TV at campsites.-Custom-made GMC light shade over dinette.-All windows have blinds, windshield has a full-width curtain and exterior button-on cover (for use at campsites).-Updated side-view mirrors.-All plumbing updated to PVC (from copper) and whole system/water pump works as it should, no leaks.-Macerator hooked to black water lines. It grinds everything and you dump the system through A GARDEN HOSE! Very cool =)-Carrier rooftop A/C unit cools whole coach wonderfully - shroud cover is cracked, but that doesn't effect A/C performance.-2 rooftop MaxxAire Fans that allow you to keep roof vents open all year thru rain/snow/whatever.-2 extra mounted fans for driver and front passenger seat. -Propane stove top and thermostat-controlled furnace.-Updated microwave that doubles as a conventional oven (has original manual).-Under-cabinet toaster oven. -Custom made sliding screen door that flows with the contours of the coach.-Awesome updated leather captain's chairs in the cockpit, and both spin around to rear-facing for when you're camping.-Air-ride rear suspension makes for an awesome smooth ride, and also acts as a leveling system at the camp site! We're including the original Dana compressor that needs to be rebuilt. Right now both air bags operate independently with schrader valves. When parked, we let the air out of the bags and set the frame on wood blocks so the airbags are free of the coach's weight. This helps the air bags to last a LONG, LONG time.-We kept the chassis nice and greased, and jacked the coach at each lube so the grease would flow into all components. Frame is in perfect shape, no rust whatsoever.-TONS of literature included as well as a huge original maintenance manual.-Lots of extra parts/lights/tools. Pretty much anything we have that is GMC Motorhome related will be included with the coach.-Some great plates/bowls/cups/mixing bowls included in the cabinets... LOTS of overhead storage!I would put my family in this thing and drive across the country tomorrow, so I'm confident that it will make it to wherever you live... it's road ready! Send me a message with any questions. I'll give you my phone number too if you want to have a conversation about it. We're more than willing to have you come see it as well. We would prefer a check or cash when you come to take delivery of the motorhome and do the title transfer. Thanks for looking!!
