Our 1976 GMC Palm Beach Motorhome has had practically every system or major component replaced or upgraded in the past 10 years. In 2011, we spared no expense in replacing the entire drivetrain starting with a balanced and blueprinted Mondello 455. Dyno tested at 300 h.p. and 510 ft/lbs of torque at 3,000 rpm, (peak h.p. is 385 @ 4,600 rpm) it includes roller rockers and lifters for today's reduced-zinc motor oils. A high-flow water pump, re-cored radiator, and finned aluminum trans and diff covers keeps everything cool. As long as the engine was out, we went ahead with a new transmission from Manny Trovao, the premier builder of TH425 transmissions for GMC motorhomes. A new 3.55 final drive, Springfield Ignition distributor, ceramic coated headers and a new stainless steel exhaust system rounded out the $20,000 package. We have since put about 8,000 trouble-free miles on it.Over the 10 years of ownership, we've freshened and upgraded much of the interior. While not as original as we would like, we always strived to adhere to the funky 70's feel while tastefully updating. Darker green cut-pile carpet replaced the bright green shag. We used green-tint cork flooring in the main areas that is easy to sweep out but still muffles road noise. The upholstery is an easy-to-clean outdoor furniture print. Removal of the original range necessitated a new dark green countertop. A microwave sits where the original oven did and the cooktop was removed for more counter space. A new Dometic RV fridge replaced the old one, finished in wood laminate that is indistinguishable from the adjacent original. Power front seats were added, as well as extra gauges, and new windshields were added in the cockpit. An extra set of Alcoa 16" aluminum wheels are included in addition to the original 16-1/2" original wheels and hubcaps. Exterior paint is all original except the lower half of the driver's side. The furnace replacement required cutting new ventilation holes and patching the original ones. An outside shower was added at the same time and fresh paint covers these improvements. New in 2006: Upholstery, cork/carpet flooring, front power seats, fridge, water tank, furnace, sink, faucet, countertop, porcelain toilet, headliner, tires, 4-bag rear suspension system, rebuilt steering box, new windshield, all 6 wheel bearings. New in 2007: Roof pod, blinds, stereo, subwoofer. New in 2008: 3.55 final drive, Ragusa final drive cover, new water heater. New in 2009: Ragusa transmission pan, 2" receiver hitch, new cruise control module. New in 2010: Recored radiator, Flowcool high-flow engine water pump, Auto Meter gauges. New in 2011: Mondello 455 engine, carburetor, Springfield ignition, transmission, ceramic coated headers, stainless steel exhaust. New in 2012: Ragusa step, roof A/C unit, engine A/C compressor. New in 2013: Onan 4kw generator, outdoor speakers and subwoofer. New in 2014: second roof A/C unit. New in 2016: freshwater pump, CV boots.

A GREAT Classic Motorhome!! The 1976 GMC Motorhome Glenbrook is a classic. From wikipedia: "Part of the reason this vehicle is so different from other motor homes of the era is that it was not conceived as just a 'camper', but was a vehicle for comfortable travel as well. The design was radical for the day with front-wheel drive and a low profile, fully integrated body." It has 15,000 miles on the new engine. Always stored inside by first and second owner. Second owner has owned this great classic since 1993.Among the many features are: Generator, 3 way refrigerator (gas, 12-v, ac), full head and shower, plenty of storage and cabinet space, roof ac plus dash ac, roof fans, Magic Chef 3-burner stove-top, screen door, 2 Zip Dee awnings, additional gauges (Vac., Tach., Water Temp., compass, Oil Pressure, AMP.),

1974 Gmc 26' , Sequoia Motorhome RV with Bunk Beds Runs great! The cabinets are white and a light colored wood grain. Makes it feel very bright and airy and are in great condition. I made slipcovers out of Ikea polkadot fabric so it is ultra-modern. I replaced all the curtains with brand new, high quality green and white upholstery fabric. Our goal was to keep the fun, funky, retro vibe of the original. We have installed new vinyl flooring throughout the coach for easy cleaning. The refrigerator is newer and it is a three-way. The dash AC works. It has a ladder, luggage rack and roof top carrier for extra storage. The bunk beds and queen bed are in the front. The rear dinette makes into a double bed. The two front leather captain's chairs completely swivel around to face the back of the coach and recline. The passenger seat does have a blemish on the part where you sit. Recent Improvements: Upper Engine Rebuild August 2014 New axles and cv joints March 2015 Brand new tires (6) December 2013 New Starter August 2014 New AC Unit for Main Living Area including heating strip option March 2013 Rebuilt Carburetor March 2013 Digital Jack Streamlined Roof Antenna March 2013 New window felt March 2013 New window tinting on all windows except front windshield June 2013 New fuel lines and both tanks dropped and cleaned March 2013 Sewer Macerator May 2014 (this works like a garbage disposal and makes it easy to dump sewer) New exhaust system Brakes redone with mater cylinder brakes and new brake lines and oversized rear wheel cylinder additional braking power Full tune up including new distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, starter, module, spark plugs, wires, & oil change, all new belts New battery isolator New fuel filters and fuel pump New batteries (generator, coach, and engine) Roof resealed with self-leveling caulk Tow hitch Full tune ups including new distributor cap, rotor, ignition coil, starter, module, spark plugs, wires, all new belts & oil change on both engine and generator. New Onan Generator starter New radio with large screen that displays from the new rear backup camera New rear speakers so you can hear music from cab radio New bathroom faucet with new water lines PLUS a Ton of smaller repairs (see pages and pages of receipts upon request) Anti-battery drain off switch for storage New white vented microwave oven over the cooktop Ladder, luggage rack, rooftop carrier Aluminum entry step Dark tinted windows all around Cruise control This is a 1974 motorhome. It is in great condition for its age; however, there will be things that need to be done. No current leaks. We have kept it under a carport cover. See our craigslist ad for full restoration details. A new Dometic RV fridge replaced the old one, finished in wood laminate that is identical to the adjacent original. Power front seats were donated from a 2002 Suburban, extra gauges were added to keep an eye on that expensive drivetrain, and new windshields were added in the cockpit.More new items we’ve added include the water tank, sink, faucet, porcelain toilet, water heater, headliner, 4-bag rear suspension system, rebuilt steering box, furnace, all 6 wheel bearings, all 6 shock absorbers, roof pod, blinds, stereo with speakers and subwoofers inside and out, 2” receiver hitch, new cruise control module, Ragusa aluminum step, both roof A/C units, engine A/C compressor, new Onan 4kw generator (now with 127 hours), freshwater pump, and CV boots. An extra set of Alcoa 16” aluminum wheels are included in addition to the original 16-1/2” original wheels and hubcaps. Exterior paint is all original except the lower half of the driver’s side. The furnace replacement required cutting new ventilation holes and patching the original ones. An outside shower was added at the same time and fresh paint covers these improvements.Depreciation is one of the biggest expenses of RV ownership and GMC Motorhomes are one of the few that can actually appreciate in value. Couple that with rock-bottom insurance and property taxes and you have one of the least expensive ways to own an RV.
