The exterior of this trailer is very nice overall it does have some minor dents and flaws. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft great aluminum which can be polished up to a mirror like shine. It does have one dent, which you can see in the photo. Some windows are missing, but overall the structure is in good condition and ready to be restored. Has original cast-iron hitch coupler with 2 5/16 inch ball. Coupler is in working condition. The interior is mostly original with the exception that the original appliances are missing. Floor covering. Mostly particle board but some tiles in fair to poor condition. No table. bathroom and separate bedroom that sleeps four. No furnishing's included. Has the original birch paneling which is in pretty decent condition. It will probably need to be sanded and re-varnished. There are a couple of sheets of birch paneling on the ceiling in the rear bedroom that will need replaced. All of the electric is original. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use. Has tired that you can use to bring home, but I would suggest have all tires inspected. Has some of the original copper plumbing and some newer stuff. I did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked waterlines but did see some previous repairs. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use. This vintage Spartan is not perfect but it does have a lot going for it. It is what is referred to as a “Double Ender” where the exterior of the trailer looks the same in the front and in the rear. If you can do most of the restoration work yourself, you can end up owning a nice vintage Spartan without having a fortune in it.

I have this gorgeous girl for sale! One of the best I've ever seen in terms of overall shell condition. There are a few random small punctures that were present when I bought it, a couple small dents around the bottom and some of the glass needs to be replaced, but these shouldn't be a hurdle to anyone familiar with the repair forums out there. I used it as a retail storefront, and since the large stock window opposite the front door was shattered by the original owner, I cut it out and installed an ADA storefront/business door in its place. No studs were removed for this; the door is the same width as the original window, so the structural integrity has not been compromised. I gutted it from its original status, which was quite despicable on the interior. The original owner left it out in the woods behind his house for decades, so everything was rotten. I gutted it down to the shell and chassis and pressure washed the interior, then installed PT joists within the chassis to reinforce the new subfloor. It has top of the line Advantec subflooring, as well as a vapor barrier and foam sheathing insulation. All of my other improvements are strictly cosmetic and can easily be driven out with hex and spiderdrive bits. I only added new insulation and 1/4" paneling to the walls and ceiling, and I framed out a transaction counter and workdesk in the center and shelving over the wheelwells. I am happy to provide more pictures upon request. It also has ADA compliant Exit signs wired in, new parking lights on the exterior, complete code compliant commercial wiring with numerous outlets and light switches, as well as high-end commercial LED ceiling light fixtures. I also had new tires installed during the gutting, (Dec 2013) which only made 1 trip of approx 30 miles. Buyer will be responsible for greasing the bearings and axles, etc. although it was done with the tires. Be advised that Spartans are extremely rare, much more so than Airstream, and this was one of the largest models ever produced, which makes it that much rarer. This would be a great rebuild for the enthusiast or a turnkey operation for the retail vendor. I can include the mini fridge and portable standalone AC unit I used inside if needed. On Jan-10-17 at 19:06:41 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Due to several emails about the interior and the glass needed, I've provided more pics. WINDOWS: The very rear folding window that is broken next to the door came to me in that condition, and I have not had time to fix it. I had it covered with tape and removed it for the shot. The handle condition is also as it was when I bought it, but replacement parts were available at the time through Vintage Trailer Supply. The middle door window was broken out last year by a vandal, as was the folding window with the blue tape in the corner. The windows to the right of the middle door are both plexiglass panels that I installed to replace the broken plexiglass panels that were there when I bought it, so if you are buying as an enthusiast who must have original fixtures, that's up to you. INTERIOR: As you can see the light fixtures are very nice and are LEDs that typically get installed in commercial office or retail space. The electrical panel is connected to city power, is brand new, and that's all I know about that for the gearheads. The surrounds on the desk and sales counter are made of the original underpinning, which was corroded to the point of scrapping but I recycled the best pieces. The tops are ambrosia maple. If you don't need the paneling, you can chuck it or recycle it, but I'm not putting any more work in it. All of the insulation in the walls is perfectly usable. It became too big of a project against my opening deadline back when I built the place, and then I never found the time to finish anything else inside. The moral of the story is that this is a super rare model that is 62 years old with perfect structural integrity, all of the horrible gutting done for you, and minor cosmetic repair. If you have not worked on one of these, you really need to understand how bad the condition can be when you get into them and be able to appreciate how this one has survived so well. DO NOT SEND lowball/ridiculous offers with bleeding heart stories about your grandmother needing a place to stay in your front yard. They will go unanswered. If there are any serious questions/offers, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking.

This Atomic-era mid-century home reflects modern taste with its unadorned machine era style and modernity. Warm and inviting curved birch wood interior displays a very high level of craftsmanship. The highly functional minimalism layout has an open floor plan that feels spacious and easy to navigate. History: The Spartan all aluminum exterior Aircraft's were the basis of inspiration for the Spartan Mansion line. The famous Spartan Executive Model 7W aircraft was one of the most famous built by Spartan Aircraft in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The same aeronautical genius was applied in the concept and building techniques of the lightweight Royal Mansion. Like its aeronautical predecessor, it was designed and built for durability and trouble-free performance. This one is still 100% functional and will cater to all of ones needs on and off the grid. This Mansion was one of the very first Royal Mansions built in 1950 at the Tulsa, OK Spartan Aircraft plant. This is one of the only remaining original Spartan's in immaculate original condition, located in the dry Southern United States. Our research has only uncovered 4 sold like it over the last 4 years. This trailer obtains the multi-tiered split windows throughout, 4 roof top ventilation shafts, two rear quarter rolling windows, forward slating nose, elegantly down curved tail-end and nearly perfect exterior and interior. This beauty will easily become the envy of all Spartan Aficionado's who lay eyes. The great ones like this quickly disappear from the US. when purchased by off-shore collectors of rare Americana. Hollywood & Spartans: Hollywood has always had a love affair with Spartan Trailer's since they seem to scream, ''I HAVE ARRIVED'' ! Actors and Actresses like Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz always had one on set. Even today's Actress Jane Hallwoorth owns a Mansion that travels around with her on and off set. These trailers are making a huge comeback and prices will only continue to go up as it gets harder to find them in original condition. Scope of Restoration/ Refresh: The majority points of the work were directed to: mechanical drive-ability of the trailer, electrical upgrades and plumbing upgrades. Even though this was considered to be one of the most modern trailers produced in 1950; it needed to be gone through and serviced with a modern eye. The exterior aluminum body, aluminum underbelly, sub frame, all of the distressed interior birch wood and interior trim, cabinetry and all appliances are all 100% original from 1950. We worked very hard to keep it original so that it's unique 50's style and feel would show through! Interior: The interior has all its factory original birch wood from floor to ceiling. It still obtains all the aluminum fittings in the windowsills, skylights, sky light caps. All original art deco style hinges and cabinetry hard-wear. Kitchen obtains a one piece aluminum double sink, all metal counter-top and backslash, four burner stove with large oven below and fully functional original KELVINATOR fridge/freezer. We Reupholstered the 50's dinner style kitchen seating with red leather and white piping, Classic original one piece aluminum sconces light up each wall through out the trailer. Large "yacht" style fluorescent lighting found under each cabinet to create a very soothing low light disbursement at night (fully rebuilt with modern electrical lighting). Open Floor Plan: This unique Royal Mansion obtains a completely open forward living space. Walking towards the rear you will observe a beautifully curved art-deco style cocktail/ mixing table with original wood privacy blinds built above. The table is multi-tiered shelving allows for displaying pictures or your favorite liquor bottles, wines or 50's memorabilia. Walking further to the rear takes you into a spacious retro kitchen on the right and large 50's diner style booth seating arrangement. To the left a large kitchen/prep area and stove then fridge. This then leads you to a private door way with a wood sliding door; upon opening, you enter a small hallway that leads to the bathroom door entrance on left and further past you enter into a very spacious and very uniquely shaped private rear quarters. To the right you will observe the rear quarters has its own private entrance/exit door. The large and spacious room's allow the new owner(s) the opportunity to furnish the trailer as they see fit. Design it however you want... Need dinner party space, no problem! Need to sleep 6+ people, no problem. Use furniture from your private mid-century collection or find pieces from a local boutique to furnish your trailer and make it into YOUR own very special and unique space. Windows: All windows and bug screens are 100% original with the exception to the three Plexiglas windows in front. These windows are mode of plexi-glass material. Floor: Original flooring has been removed and new high-quality hard wood flooring installed. Bathroom: Bathroom is a VERY unique one piece all aluminum wet bath configuration done in highly polished aluminum! WOW DOES IT POP!!! The lavatory has a tall residential size toilet, sink, rebuilt ventilation system, window, shower head, floor drain. Electrical: We installed a brand new electrical panel and a new 50 amp service line and receptacle/connection on the exterior of the trailer. We also ran a dedicated line from the box to the center roof vent (this vent is located in the kitchen). This upgrade will allow you to easily self install a roof-top A/C unit (12k or 15k) if you so choose. New electrical lines were also installed from the panel to all the new outlets and GFI outlets were installed in the kitchen area. The kitchenette and rear bedroom outlets have USB connections within the outlet itself to direct charge your smart phone or hand held device. Condition: This Spartan is in original condition with little done during the resto to change its original appearance. Exterior: Spartan Aircraft travel trailers obtain the thickest gauge aluminum ever used in a production travel trailer. Only the highest and purest grade aluminum was used in its production. This type of aluminum is usually reserved for aircraft use only. We own a polishing company so we recently polished all of the aluminum skin on its exterior. At roughly 350+ man hours of polishing, 8+ cuts to expose the beautifully reflective aluminum material. Lastly it was carefully polished by a four man team using a special orbital tool to work the metal into a mirror like reflective sheen. This polishing process is a must for Spartan's to simply stand out from among the rest, and the results are breath taking. We believe this to be a rare and highly desirable Spartan Mansion and due to its original condition, we think you will agree that this is a very unique and special Spartan trailer. With any trailer there are always things you will want to add or change to make it your own. You must have an open mind when engaging in a purchase of this type. Very Cool 1955 Spartan Mansion Travel Trailer. 32ft. It has a straight body and skin, the paneling is in okay condition. This trailer has some pealing of the varnishing. There is a cork floor in the living room and the rest of the trailer is vinyl tiles that are coming up. The floor is solid. The frame is solid. It is stored in a hot and dry area in the central valley of Fresno, California. That is reason for the peeling of the varnish. There was a swamp cooler over the overhead vent by the kitchen and that is only real water damage is. Please feel free to contact me for further information. Great restoration project. Thank you for looking. Happy Camping!
