I have this gorgeous girl for sale! One of the best I've ever seen in terms of overall shell condition. There are a few random small punctures that were present when I bought it, a couple small dents around the bottom and some of the glass needs to be replaced, but these shouldn't be a hurdle to anyone familiar with the repair forums out there. I used it as a retail storefront, and since the large stock window opposite the front door was shattered by the original owner, I cut it out and installed an ADA storefront/business door in its place. No studs were removed for this; the door is the same width as the original window, so the structural integrity has not been compromised. I gutted it from its original status, which was quite despicable on the interior. The original owner left it out in the woods behind his house for decades, so everything was rotten. I gutted it down to the shell and chassis and pressure washed the interior, then installed PT joists within the chassis to reinforce the new subfloor. It has top of the line Advantec subflooring, as well as a vapor barrier and foam sheathing insulation. All of my other improvements are strictly cosmetic and can easily be driven out with hex and spiderdrive bits. I only added new insulation and 1/4" paneling to the walls and ceiling, and I framed out a transaction counter and workdesk in the center and shelving over the wheelwells. I am happy to provide more pictures upon request. It also has ADA compliant Exit signs wired in, new parking lights on the exterior, complete code compliant commercial wiring with numerous outlets and light switches, as well as high-end commercial LED ceiling light fixtures. I also had new tires installed during the gutting, (Dec 2013) which only made 1 trip of approx 30 miles. Buyer will be responsible for greasing the bearings and axles, etc. although it was done with the tires. Be advised that Spartans are extremely rare, much more so than Airstream, and this was one of the largest models ever produced, which makes it that much rarer. This would be a great rebuild for the enthusiast or a turnkey operation for the retail vendor. I can include the mini fridge and portable standalone AC unit I used inside if needed. On Jan-10-17 at 19:06:41 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Due to several emails about the interior and the glass needed, I've provided more pics. WINDOWS: The very rear folding window that is broken next to the door came to me in that condition, and I have not had time to fix it. I had it covered with tape and removed it for the shot. The handle condition is also as it was when I bought it, but replacement parts were available at the time through Vintage Trailer Supply. The middle door window was broken out last year by a vandal, as was the folding window with the blue tape in the corner. The windows to the right of the middle door are both plexiglass panels that I installed to replace the broken plexiglass panels that were there when I bought it, so if you are buying as an enthusiast who must have original fixtures, that's up to you. INTERIOR: As you can see the light fixtures are very nice and are LEDs that typically get installed in commercial office or retail space. The electrical panel is connected to city power, is brand new, and that's all I know about that for the gearheads. The surrounds on the desk and sales counter are made of the original underpinning, which was corroded to the point of scrapping but I recycled the best pieces. The tops are ambrosia maple. If you don't need the paneling, you can chuck it or recycle it, but I'm not putting any more work in it. All of the insulation in the walls is perfectly usable. It became too big of a project against my opening deadline back when I built the place, and then I never found the time to finish anything else inside. The moral of the story is that this is a super rare model that is 62 years old with perfect structural integrity, all of the horrible gutting done for you, and minor cosmetic repair. If you have not worked on one of these, you really need to understand how bad the condition can be when you get into them and be able to appreciate how this one has survived so well. DO NOT SEND lowball/ridiculous offers with bleeding heart stories about your grandmother needing a place to stay in your front yard. They will go unanswered. If there are any serious questions/offers, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking.
