Up for sale is a 1998 Chieftain with 48,000 miles. It has 2 slides, overall cosmetically in fair condition, better inside. It is a handyman special. The motor just had all new top half done, will show receipt for 2000 dollars. I drove it back to New York from North Carolina with no problems. Motor does have an exhaust leak on passenger side of manifold. Generator doesn't start, air conditioner and heat on motor does not work, rear heater off the motor works fine, 2 roof air conditioners are fine. The auto park system and emergency brake do not work. I think they are both the same problem. I sometimes hear a rattling by the transmission or exhaust, I don't know what it is. Please expect the worst it can only be better. The transmission shifts fine except for park. The electric step does not work. Both windshields are cracked and front window leaks but no water damage. There are some drawers that need attention and a drip in shower from skylight. It has a fairly new aftermarket refrigerator that stays cold all day without being plugged in. Hot water heater is electric and propane works fine. It has been winterized. There is tons of compartment space and storage throughout. The tires are good all around, brakes fine, overall, if you are handy you can save thousands on this motorhome with some work. Please understand, it is 18 years old. Please do not expect a new RV.
