This rig is listed for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this auction without notice. I have limited space and too many projects. I am interested in selling my rare and exotic E450SD. This is a custom E450SD Elf Bus built for the Northern California Santa Clara County Library for use as a book mobile. It has been fleet maintained by the school district and has low miles (88k)This is a very high end custom built low floor ($150,000+) rig that can take you and your business / family / etc anywhere. This is a custom special order chassis from Overland coach, the build is by Farber which specializes in custom built SWAT, Blood Drive, Bookmobile, Mobile Command Posts etc. Do not be intimidated by the size of this rig, it drives very easily. I had an e350sd short bus dually previously (7.3L) and this e450sd drives & rides way better than leaf sprung solid axle vehicles. The rig is fully wired up for Satellite internet and networked, has dual rooftop coleman Mach a/c units, Onan generator, shore power hookups (220v), FULL 110v inversion and battery isolation system with integrated charging and generator bypass. Both A/C units have thermostats, also feature built in heating functions- in addition there are front and rear mounted furnaces that run off of generated power. The box is well insulated and this setup can keep you warm or cool in any weather. There is a fold out loading / handicap ramp in the front.Dual Retractable shade awnings.Air Parking Brake and Rear suspension system.Gas Engine88k MilesClean California TitleNo Leaks - Everything is in excellent working order.Box Portion is 20' x 8' x 8'NEVER DRIVEN IN SNOW!!!!!PA System / IntercomPower SteeringABS BrakesFRONT WHEEL DRIVEAIR SUSPENSION19.5" Commercial 10 Lug Wheels (no dually required)Highway Rib Commercial Rubber by Goodyear at 90% TreadPassthrough DoorPower Windows and Folding Telescoping MirrorsThis would make the ultimate Bug Out SHTF Zombie Apocolypse doomsday prepper RIG!!!It would also be great as a mobile office for job site or construction or convert to a no bullshit tiny home on wheels. This is a BRAND NEW TRUCK CAMPER. This is a "factory overstock" brand new 2016 Cirrus 800 truck camper. Nothing wrong...but the factory sent the last of the '16 production run to us since we did such a great job with the last batch we got, so they can make room for 2017 production. That means...YOU SAVE MONEY!! You can go to our website, and you'll find this exact same unit. These prices are as good as they're going to get! It's here on eBay for more visibility, so more buyers can see it, and it is PRICED TO MOVE!! And my eBay buyers get a leg up on the competition! How? Because you can BUY IT NOW, even if you're nowhere near Maryland! Click it, make your deposit, and it's all yours - NOBODY ELSE can snag it...and we figure out your pickup date and time from there. You just pay the balance when you pick it up, and we can install any tie-down brackets for you while you're here. Grab it, before anyone else can! You're getting a BRAND NEW truck camper here. FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. ...you're just...SAVING A TON OF MONEY!! Like any new truck camper, tie-down work is additional - no manufacturer includes these because there are too many possible combinations based on how many different trucks are out there. If you need tie-downs, EMAIL ME the following information about your short-bed pickup truck and I can put a price quote together. We can do it all in one shot, when you come to pick up the camper!  Year Make Model Single or dual rear wheels? Running boards or nerf bars? If yes, do they extend past the back of the cab? Receiver hitch? If yes, is it factory or aftermarket? Factory or aftermarket rear bumper? If you have questions about "will it fit in my truck?"...please, check the photo above, it has all the measurements so you can compare them to your truck bed. The other factor will be weight - check your owner's manual for "payload capacity". If you have questions after you check the basics for your truck, shoot me an email and I'll be happy to help out! We had some of these Cirrus campers earlier this season and they FLEW out of here. If you missed out on those...HERE'S YOUR SECOND CHANCE!! Right now we have the one pictured in this ad (white, with silver and black graphics and olive green interior); and a gray one with white and black graphics and a tan interior. We *had* a white one with red graphics and red interior...but it's GONE! Here is my ad copy from earlier this season - same model, same brand, same features, same killer design and outstanding execution.  Where to begin....wow. OK, the first thing you notice when you look in is the style. Very "European", very modern, very clean, and very functional. The cabinets all have hidden hinges and pushbutton-flush-fit-handles. The surfaces are all modern. The ceiling lights are ...well, they're just sexy, and they're LED, and they're bright, and they're super-low-profile so you don't smack your head when you walk under them.  Then you step inside and the floor is...wait...PADDED?? Yep. It's Infinity-brand woven flooring - a green product, extremely durable and comfortable and easy to clean and live with. And the Alde heating system brings back some old-school technology - it's a convection-style radiator system. There are "heat exchangers" (radiators) under the cabinets (yep- heated floors along with heated underfloor holding tanks!), in the wet-bath, and around the mattress perimeter (yes...a heated mattress, too!). Oh, and the Alde system also provides instant hot water - and will run on either 110v shore power, or LP if you're boondocking. And, it only takes about as much LP as your fridge will, if you're running it on LP. So, how does the heat get under the mattress? The Froli sleep system. Not only does it use spring-pucks to support the mattress just like a box spring at home, but it keeps the mattress elevated so air (hot, cold, whatever) circulates under the mattress and it doesn't get all funky under there. The cabinetry looks high-end...because it IS. Lite-Ply euro-style cabinets with those nice recessed handles and hidden hinges. Glass-top sink and cooktop. Fold-down overhead cabinet/bunk conversion. Swing-out TV/stereo cabinet. This is stuff you find on a million-dollar yacht...not a truck camper! But...here it is. Then there's the wet-bath. ROOMY, especially for a truck camper. Fold-up vanity sink for more room. Nice hand-held shower. There's even an Alde heat radiator right there in the bathroom! Even the window shades are special - they look like usual day/night shades, but...they're actually the screens, too! All the windows open, including the one in the front cap. Open the window and pull up what's normally the "day shade"...and it's a pleated window screen to keep the bugs and no-see-ums out. Oh, and there's an accordion screen door on the entrance, too! Then, we get into the "normal" RV-stuff. 3 way (110v/12v/LP) fridge. LP cooktop. Convection microwave. 12v water pump (easily accessed under the step for the bed). Heated and enclosed holding tanks. Rooftop Coleman Mach 8 air conditioner (9,200 BTU). The 12v LED lights throughout. Power and USB outlets on each side of the bed. 110v outlets throughout. 55A converter. Tank monitor panel. Even with all this innovation...yep, it's still an RV! The outside is just as innovative as the interior - first, the Azdel. No wood. No rot. Aluminum framing and block foam insulation inside the walls. One-piece aluminum roof skin (boy do they sound awesome when it rains!). Opening dual acrylic windows throughout. Bus-style slam latch baggage doors. Detachable 30A power cord. 7 pin trailer connector for lights and battery charge line. Insulated dual-battery compartment for all you boondockers out there. Four power Atwood jacks. 8' Fiamma awning (passenger side). All-LED lighting - porch, entry, security, D.O.T. markers, tail and backup, they're all LED. Outside speakers. Outside shower. Tank fill and city water hookups. Tank drain. Low point drain. This is as nicely built as some of our $100,000 5th wheels, or $150,000 motorhomes! And...it's all designed to go into a SHORT-bed pickup truck. The outside floor length (as you can see in the photo above) is 88 inches long including the removable rubber bumpers at the front. It's got its own taillights and backup lights, and a spot for your license plate, so it's designed to cover your truck's taillights. The only thing not included in our price, is the tie-down system for your truck - brackets, turnbuckles, etc. Tell me what your truck is - year, make, model, does it have running boards, is it a dually, does it have a factory back bumper, does it have a factory trailer hitch - and I can put together a package price for you. The weights and measurements are all up above, and there are also links to the manufacturer's website, so you can make sure your truck's payload capacity will handle the weight of the camper. This is a chance to get a great deal on a super-cool, truly amazing truck camper. If you have any questions at all...please, don't hesitate to get in touch! Why do we sell on eBay?  Exposure, plain and simple. We want as many people as possible to see our items, so we can sell more of them. Why should I buy here on eBay? CONVENIENCE.   You don't have to be here in person to make the unit yours! You click the button; you make the deposit; and the unit is YOURS. I lock it up and mark it sold, and nobody messes with it. We sort all the paperwork electronically, and I get everything prepped so you can make ONE TRIP to pick it up, pay for it, and take it home with you! And if you're a remote buyer (not local to Maryland), I'm used to dealing with shippers and all the extra paperwork that's involved for remote buyers. It's what I do, day in and day out, and your paperwork will be done quickly and correctly so all you have to do is enjoy your purchase! What do we sell on eBay? We're an RV dealer, and we sell clear-title, private-party trade-ins. There's a scrolling gallery on every one of my auction pages that shows all our current listings - we've got a little of everything. Want a dirt-cheap project camper? Got 'em. Want a good deal on a nice RV? Got those too. Motorized, towable, popups, 5th wheels, travel trailers, you name it and I probably have one (or more) that will fit what you're looking for. And sometimes...we even have cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats...just keep an eye on our listings, you never know what might pop up! Don't see what you're looking for? Email me! I'll see what else we've got in stock that might work for you! Just because it's not on eBay doesn't mean we don't have it - we've got nearly 500 UNITS IN STOCK!! Can I come see an item in person before I bid? SURE!! Our location is at the top of this ad - there's a link to us on Mapquest, you can plot your directions right there. Just make sure when you get here, that you ASK FOR JOE (THE EBAY GUY).  Why do I need to ask for Joe? Because I'm the eBay guy!  I write all these ads personally. I take all the photos personally. I go through all the units personally. I don't use website photos or canned descriptions - I walk through them and check them out for you with my own two eyes.  All that takes time, and effort - and let's face it, it's what got you interested in this item to begin with!  If you have questions about this item...I've gone through it personally, and I can answer all your questions because of it.  Sure, there are other salespeople here - but we all get our pricing from the same managers, so talking to someone else in the hopes they'll come up with a lower price than you see here on eBay? It won't work (and that's a direct quote from the company owner), so ASK FOR JOE and you're going to get a great unit for a great price, from someone who's gone through it personally and checked everything out for you so you know what you're getting for your money!! Ask for Joe - you get a great unit for a great price, I get paid for all the hard work I do...everyone goes home happy!   ?Can I buy it outside of eBay? I guess you could...but why?  My pricing here is thousands below retail - I've DONE your haggling for you already!  eBay is quick, and it's easy. You don't have to be here in person, just click the button, make the deposit...and it's all yours! Locked up and waiting for you to arrive! There are no surprise fees when you buy it here - for you, or for me. I pay my listing fees when I put an item online, and there are no fees when they sell on eBay. And lastly, if I have to pull an item because of an off-eBay sale...it hurts my seller rating (eBay sees it as a "failure to fulfill an order"), so we try really hard not to do that.  If you want to see it in person, come out and see it...but ask for Joe and bring your smartphone so you can click that button on the lot. People do it all the time! When you do, you get a great deal on an item...and I get paid for the work I did writing the ad!  If you buy it from one of my coworkers...I don't get paid for all the work I did on the ad!! That doesn't save you any money...it just means THEY get paid, NOT ME. Do you like getting paid for the work you do?  So do I !!!!!!!  So...BRING YOUR PHONE and be ready to CLICK THAT BUTTON!! All bidders must be 18 years of age or older. We make sure it is ready to go… all you have to do is provide the map. 95% Perfect (Info For The Picky) We are going to rate this vehicle a 9.5 out of 10. The interior is in fine condition with only very minor signs of wear. Our mechanic has done a thorough check of the vehicle to make sure everything is working as it should. The interior RV components (roof top AC, refrigerator, stove, heater, water heater, and sink) have all been inspected and are in great working order. Remember you are buying a good used vehicle that we have checked out from end to end. Please know that if you find something right away that we missed we will work diligently with you to take care of it. It has also been detailed and brought back to near showroom condition. For More Information On This Year And Model If you need more details about the Airstream Interstate and its amenities, specs, and other neat stuff, please check this out: https://camperbuyers.com/PDFs/2006_interstate.pdfThe Airstream Interstate Mercedes, maker of the Sprinter, and Airstream, maker of all those shiny aluminum trailers for the last 80-something years, have collaborated on this, the Airstream Interstate. Take a Sprinter and an Airstream, put them in a quiet dimly lit room with some wine and Barry White music, and this is what you get. As you might guess, the Airstream Interstate is truly a wondrous wheeled conveyance. It's easy to drive, and only about 22 feet long. It has space, amenities, beautiful upholstery, and as-tested, it even has a TV set. You will be the envy of every Good Sam you meet at the camping parks and coin-op washer-dryer facilities. What Is It Like To Drive? The Interstate is a wonderful rolling home even in today's world of wonderful rolling homes. It's a lot smaller than those city bus-sized units you see with the lion and lioness mural on the back panel. Yet a tall (6-foot plus) person can easily walk around in it without banging a noggin on anything. And the Interstate is about 100 times easier to maneuver in city driving and in parking lots than a trailer...it even fits in parking spaces. Despite being, as we said, about 22 feet long and over 9 feet high with the air conditioner and TV antenna on the roof, it's still not at all hard to drive around town. Try finding a camper you can take to the grocery store, then run 7 middle-school kids to a birthday party. Getting the picture? Sleeping And Camping When it's time to turn in, the sleeping area is surprising and quite comfortable. There's an exhaust fan in the roof, and when you click it on and crank open some vent windows in back, things stays relatively cool, so there's no need for the AC until the outside air temp really heats up. When parked, you can plug the camper into a regular 120-volt wall outlet or into a camping park's power jack and not drain your auxiliary battery. If you're way out in the desert with no wall jacks nearby, there's an onboard generator that fires up with the push of a button from inside the camper, and -- voila! -- you can run the rooftop air conditioner or watch TV no matter where you are. Power 0-60 in about 20 seconds is more than sufficient. Yes, it's not a rocket, but this is a motor home, remember? How fast could your house go? It doesn't feel that slow from behind the wheel and in passing on the freeway it's not dangerously lollygagging. The 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 also has enough torque to tow up to 6,400 pounds. Layout Airstream offers 11 different interior layouts for the Interstate, so it's kind of like a box of chocolates (as Forrest Gump and his mom say), except all the chocolate is delicious so you don't care which one you get. None come equipped with Jenny. Do I Want It? A big drawback for most buyers is the price: New Interstates run about $153,000. My first house cost $3000 less than that. In contrast, our Interstates run less than 1/2 that amount on average, so you can get all the perks of Interstate ownership, with the same amenities for less than 1/2 the price. What's not to want? Additional Photos To view more photos of this Airstream Interstate please go to: https://picasaweb.google.com/102479032000740244047/497leave We know there’s a lot of old school folks out there that are hesitant about buying online, and even more so in an online auction arena. Well, the fact that you’ve found us online means you have a computer. Remember when you first got that new fangled contraption? (I do, and I also remember when I eventually found out that you can’t fix it by slapping it on the side or the top like an old television). Buying vehicles online is the best way to go, as you have the best selection available to you at the price you want to pay. Please check out all the information we have gathered for you in this auction. We have NEVER had anyone purchase an RV from us sight unseen who didn’t love it when they picked it up, or had it delivered to their door. So let us help you through your dream of purchasing an Airstream Interstate. It really is just a click away so... Ask Questions... Bid like the wind... Throw off the gray water lines... Drive away from the safe covered parking... Catch the trade winds in your roof air vents... Explore... Dream... Discover... Bidders Beware! An Important Bidding Tip For You During every auction, we get emails from the second or third bidder asking us to contact them if the sale doesn't work out with the winner. They are ready to buy it. Sometimes even offering more. What happens? They get outbid at the last second. It’s called sniping. Some folks wait until the last second to bid, or use programs to sneak that last bid in. We don’t mind, but it sure upsets the second and third bidders. So, if you want to avoid this, put in your highest bid early, or at least in the last 5 minutes of the auction. This way, you can see where you really stand. Yes, good Rialtas are hard to come by, so get your bids in early. We hope this helps. Purchasing A Vehicle Online Is SCARY We know this. We've done it ourselves. You're wondering what's wrong with the vehicle and what's right? Why is the sale price thousands of dollars less than what a big dealer charges? Lots of questions we're not afraid to answer. First, we just sell VW Campers, Rialtas, and now Airstream Interstates. We know exactly what to look for in a camper and we know what we're doing as we check them out. Check out our feedback and look at our auctions. What do you think the difference is between our campers and the others you see here on eBay? Every once in a while, some used car dealer will happen upon one, and flip it up here on eBay. Maybe it's a nice van, but maybe it's not. It could be one that we have passed on. Do they know the camper, or do they just know they can make money on the camper? Did they run a VAG Com (diagnostic) on it? Did they check the transmission properly? How many of these have they sold? Ask them. Well, we have sold hundreds of van conversions in the last 10 years. There are a lot of things to look for when picking out one of these great campers, and we know what they are. Another thing we can assure you that we do (that even the proudest 'for sale by owners' rarely do) is to get it inspected by the right shop, and then to have EVERYTHING fixed that isn't right. And if it's not right, we say so. And, if you find something that our professionals have missed, or that we have missed, we don't leave you hanging. We are reasonable people. We help to assess and fix the problem should there be one. So we ask for your business and your trust. Remember, we don't just sell these unique RV’s, we own them, drive them every day, and we love them. Shipping It is possible to have your vehicle shipped to your driveway anywhere in the USA, or even to your choice of Canadian ports of entry. We do this all the time. Average cost is roughly $.50 to $1.00 per mile . The vehicle can be shipped to almost any location of your choice, within reason. Importing to Canada If you’re considering importing this vehicle to Canada, please read about the process here. It's very easy to do. http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html Good luck in your search for the perfect camper, and always remember to Enjoy the Journey! ~The Folks at LuVeeDub ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Terms of Sale The winning bidder must contact us after the auction ends to make payment arrangements. A $1000 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of auction via pay pal. If you are paying the “Buy it Now” Price that DOES include a $200.00 document fee. If you are paying a lower amount please note: a $150.00 document fee will be added on to the final price. The remaining balance is due within (7) days. The remaining payment may be made by a Wire Transfer (Bank to Bank) or a Certified Cashier's Check. Funds will be verified before vehicle and title are released. Please arrange financing prior to bidding. Vehicle must be picked up within (14) days after the auction ends unless other arrangements have been made. Please email me with any questions. We reserve the right to end this auction if the vehicle has been sold locally and is no longer for sale. If you cannot agree to the terms of this sale, please do not bid. Optional Fees To cover our extra expenses and time, if you need us to overnight you any documents pertaining to your vehicle, we will charge the following fees: US - $50, Canada - $100. We will hold your vehicle, as long as full payment is received in accordance with our terms of sale, for up to 30 days. After 14 days a $20.00 per day storage fee will apply. SOLD AS IS It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, ask all questions about the vehicle before the auction ends, and to have satisfied themselves as to the condition and value of the vehicle, and to bid based solely upon that judgment. We will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. Our descriptions are based on our inspections of the vehicle. Descriptions of cosmetic condition are based on our opinion of what we see & may differ from your opinion. We have worked with many vehicles and base our comments on comparison. A vehicle that is described as "Mint", "Excellent", "Perfect", etc, is described that way based on similar vehicles of that age and mileage. No used vehicle is 100% perfect, no matter how well it was cared for. Remember that small blemishes or issues may exist that we have not noted (but we are pretty thorough and probably did note them). We also may not mention a cosmetic flaw that is clearly visible in the pictures. Please look at all of the pictures carefully, as they are part of the vehicle's description. Also keep in mind we are very picky, we know these vehicles very well and do our best to deliver what we describe to/for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whew... that wasn't so bad was it? Have you ever read the stuff on the bottom of a contest entry form? And that's for free stuff!

This is not a private party sale with mechanical surprises down the road. We fix EVERYTHING on our vehicles before they are placed on eBay for sale. They are all in tip top shape. Keep this in mind while you are looking! About This Airstream Interstate This is a well-cared for 2006 Airstream Interstate rear sleeper that was garaged most of its life. It features a Mercedes 2.7 liter turbo charged 5 cylinder diesel engine on a Sprinter 2500 chassis. It has just over 32 thousand miles and purrs like a kitten. This Airstream Interstate has been driven only about 4,000 miles annually. This space-saving floor plan places the removable dinette and bed area in the rear of the coach, with the galley in the middle and the bathroom combo near the front. The galley features a two burner stove, 3.0 cubic foot refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a sink. All you have to do is fill the cabinets and refrigerator with your own goodies and you can prepare your favorite meals in your home away from home. This RV is perfect for the couple on the go, or the solo traveler that truly feels like a home away from home. The heating (12,000 BTU furnace) and air conditioning (overhead) all work very well to keep you toasty or cool wherever you may choose to camp. This Interstate also features a create-a-breeze fan and leather seating throughout, along with a flat-panel television and integrated audio system. The innovative bathroom/shower combo is convenient for use after you have spent the day fishing or hiking. For those who like to "dry camp" away from the RV parks, the propane generator keeps all of your on-board amenities powered in paradise. The hold tanks are heated. This model has seating for six and sleeps two. New versions of this model sell for well over $100K. Take a good look at this unique vehicle via our detailed pictures. Imagine the places you can go and sights you have never seen. This RV will take you there in style. It’s mechanically sound, has had a full inspection and its next required service. We make sure it is ready to go… all you have to do is provide the map. 95% Perfect (Info For The Picky) We are going to rate this vehicle a 9.5 out of 10. The interior is in excellent condition with only very minor signs of wear. Our mechanic has done a thorough check of the vehicle to make sure everything is working as it should. The interior RV components (roof top AC, refrigerator, microwave, TV, DVD player, stove, heater, water heater, and sink) have all been inspected and are in great working order. Remember you are buying a great used vehicle that we have checked out from end to end. Please know that if you find something right away that we missed we will work diligently with you to take care of it. It has also been detailed. For More Information On This Year And Model If you need more details about the Airstream Interstate and its amenities, specs, and other neat stuff, please check this out: http://www.camperbuyers.com/PDFs/2006_interstate.pdf The Airstream Interstate Mercedes, maker of the Sprinter, and Airstream, maker of all those shiny aluminum trailers for the last 80-something years, have collaborated on this, the Airstream Interstate. My (Chris...one of the owners of Pop Top Heaven) first house cost $3000 less than that. In contrast, our Interstates run less than 1/2 that amount on average, so you can get all the perks of Interstate ownership, with the same amenities for less than 1/2 the price. What's not to want? RARE 1953 Prototype Westfalia T5 "Camping Box" Trailer (Only 1 in the WORLD)

Hello, I am selling an extremely rare 1953 Westfalia T5 camping trailer. Here's a brief history that I bought from a guy in Beligum. Camping trend really became only big in the sixties; I remember my parents picked up only 1972 camping trailer when they bought their first camping trailer to tour around Europe. But I have a lot of friends where the parents started camping in the mid to late sixties. The people needed to be adapted to this new style of time consuming as before they could not do a lot more like working and taking care for things like house and garden. But things like washing machines, lawn mowers, and etc. That started to make life more practical, easy and even regular class working people started to get spare time to relax, enjoy, and travel. So finding sixties and seventies trailers are common in the late fifty's. All the brands that made the better trailers started to build very luxury camping trailers. If you ever have the chance to see a 1958-1961 Westfalia camping trailer in and out. You will know what I'm talking about. These trailers off course attracted every average family in Europe and so every body started to dream from his own camping trailer and go for holidays to all the popular camping places of the time, I can remember like yesterday that half of school went to Boden in Germany and Lago di Garda in Italy. But many of them found the more unique spots and enjoyed maybe even more, or toured through Skandinavia. With all this in mind and the history known so far imagine my surprise when one of my specialized hunters called me and told me about this 1953 Westfalia camping trailer, so early I asked??? This do not fit into my regular time period of thinking as in the early fifty's most people did not dream to travel yet, as most didn't even have a car! Everybody was recovering from the mother off all wars of all times stopped only 8 years before everybody tried to pick up life. Everybody was working hard and gaining something so daily life and house could be paid for. And if "one day" somebody could save some money they all dreamed about a car and travel? No way, you come 10 years ahead of time unless you're rich. So somebody that was thinking about traveling, and to buy a camping trailer to do regularly outings was not an average man in 1953 and that makes that European camping trailers from this period are hardly inexistent. But one company did feel the future would bring more leisure time and gambled to started small series of camping set ups in cars or trailers. From this company, some became big and Westfalia is for sure one of today's main mobile camping suppliers. Camping trailers so early where mainly made from very poor materials, mainly to save weight as the cars did no have any horsepower, so hauling trailers over the Alps was more like an adventure. This use of cheap materials like cardboard and very light woods make that most camping trailers from this era are long time gone. But not this one. . .. The trailer was built at the Westfalia plant in June 1953 we think the trailer did not sell until 1954 as its only first registered on March 30, 1954 to its first owner in Stuttgart. Two years later in 1956 the camping trailer were sold to Dr. Mac Lean of Coll who should have been relative from the first owner but we do not have any document to prove that. The Doctor resided at that time in Hamburg with his wife Miriam Senta Hilde Elisabeth Mac Lean of Coll born as "Freiin von Grossschedel zu Berghausen und Aigelsbach." I guess from the names this is very aristocrat and therefore the reason they could afford time and money to travel, but all in a sudden something strange happened. The Doctor used the trailer only few times to travel to Italy, until he bought a big country house there; from then on the camping trailer was kept in sunny dry Italy in a barn on the property and was unregistered in 1960. It came only back on the road when the lady passed away in 1991 and the testimony came in favour from another doctor in MÃÆ'¼nchen who sold the camping trailer few years later to a local south German collector. He just kept it with out doing nothing to it until our hunter discovered it in 2002 and tried to buy it ever since. After 3 years of begging and asking to sell the trailer changed hands and came to Belgium where it was just cleaned as everything was to an original to touch. We brought the trailer to Hessisch Oldendorf for the show in June 2005 but unfortunately he did not make it to the market square, so only the people that visited the museum could see this strange "box on wheels" The Camping trailer is 100% authentic as it left the factory, it's a frame with a cardboard roof, and aluminum sides inside covered with wood. The windows are very common as house windows, and open as such. The floor is 22mm of hardboard. We point out that all and everything is in very good condition, there is a rot wood in the front of the trailer, and there is no corrosion on the aluminium outer skin!! There are some marks on the roof from some leaks in the past, so we advise the buyer to keep the trailer inside to preserve and make sure it will have a long life. The paint is absolute first paint, there are some marks and scratches from use and storage, but this camping trailer was never repainted, damaged or repaired! As for details we like to point out the original Westfalia badge in the back, and the original taillights, or what about the original 16 inch wheels with the original Westfalia hubcaps. Also the license plate that changed in 1957 does still come with this camping queen on wheels. Interior is very Spartan with Mahoney wooden chests never painted or varnished. The beds on the back is a double stack, in the front it's a double bed that like many camping trailers can be transformed into the dining table. The kitchen block contains a sink and a gas cooker. The gas cooker was not in when we bought this camping trailer put we found the perfect match. There is one mirror above the kitchen block, and one the big closet opposite from the kitchen. We guarantee that all upholstery from beds and seats is original and even the curtains are original!! This is an incredible strange camping trailer that is extremely early for Europe, and it will be hard to find a second one in this shape. The seat cushions fabric are so rare and highly desirable for those who have a VW barndoor (pre 1955) camper bus. The fabric cannot be found unless they are in pre 1955 Westfalia camper bus or trailer. Ever dreamed for a Spartan guest house in your garage, or go back for a Spartan camp out? Trailers like this are extremely rare. The fact that this is an absolute the only one I ever saw is for me proof enough to say that it's the only one registered in the world. Now with the statement from a guy in Beligum proves that it's a prototype trailer made to see if it'll sell in the 50's. Westfalia started to produce trailers in 1958 and I used to own a 1960 335/4 Westfalia trailer which is now in a museum. After I bought the trailer and did some work to the trailer. I had to replace all wiring because it was so brittle and fire hazard. I replaced the wiring as clean as possible to the factory style. I replaced the bearings, seals, and greased the bearings.I added a large sheet metal under the floor to firm the front of the trailer with some extra bolts and handles well when towing on the road. I replaced two new white wall tires. I am the third registered owner. This trailer is the only one registered in America and one in the world. I even got an original 1953 California trailer plate. The trailer is a piece of history from Westfalia in Germany. Click on the link to view history from Westfalia plant. westfalia-mobil.net/en/unternehmen/unternehmenshistorie.php You will see a Ford car towing the trailer. The car is not included and is sold. All props you see in the picture are not included. The trailer has been shown in a vintage trailer rally and was an eye catcher.
