2008 host Super C diesel motorhome with 4 wheel drive built on a Ford F-550 Super Duty two ton chassis. This is a very unique rig and very few of them out there. Host made three different sizes and this is the largest that they made. 35 feet long with 4 slides. All the amenities of a Class A Diesel Pusher but with much lower operating costs, four-wheel drive, and a true four door cab with four captains chairs wrapped in leather. It took me awhile to find one of these and couldn't get this one until I convinced a friend to sell me it. We bought it to use in Mammoth as our primary destination for fun. Looks like we will be moving up there and as such won't be needing the motorhome. This a true Four Seasons capable motorhome with sealed and heated tanks. Most of the RV community has seen the Truck campers built by Host, but few have seen the Class C RVs that they build. In all, about 250 of these units have been produced throughout the years and they are still offered today, however the $250,000 price tag will discourage most buyers. Ok, so what makes these rigs so unique??? This is one of the few RVs built on a Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. The only other RV I have seen in person or owned that was a 4x4 crew cab was Earthroamer. While the Earthroamers are super cool and have a ton of one off options, there is a hefty price tag along with a very small interior. And this is the ONLY 4x4 Rv offered with Slide-Outs......and this has 4 of them!!! Ok, so who goes RVing and needs 4x4. This is something not seen too often but opens up a range of RVing not utilized by many. For those that are North of the Border, RVing year round is not a possibility because of the lack of 4 wheel drive and insufficient insulation. This Host Class C Camper is a 4 season unit with small heaters in each basement storage compartment and several interior heaters and toe-kick heaters. How great would it be to go skiing and drive this RV right up to the slopes and be able to spend all weekend? Or drag the sleds up and enjoy fresh powder in a remote area! Sometimes 4x4 will help you get out of the drive in Michigan to head to Florida. All windows are double paned insulated glass and all walls are thick with tons of R-value, so the coldest of cold or the hottest of hot won't bother you while camping. Next, lets talk about the floor plan. Anyone that has ever slept on a pull out couch does not like the idea of RVing if you are not sleeping in the master suite. This is one of the ONLY RVs I have ever been around that has 2 queen beds, not made up couches or dinettes, and not an air mattress on the floor. Over the cab of the truck is a full size queen bed that you can lift up to make it easier to enter the cab itself. Gone are the days of having to reassemble your RV to accommodate another couple. The dinette will convert into a bed should you need more sleeping area and there is a ton of storage under the cushions. It is equipped with a well appointed galley that has separate fridge/freezer and large capacity convection oven. Going further back is an enclosed head across from the large neo-angle shower. The passenger rear slide houses the large closet and entertainment center and the drivers side rear slide has a full size queen bed that has ample storage under it. This is definitely one of the few Class C RVs that can truly accommodate 2 couples. This RV sits on a 2008 Ford F-550 Crew Cab 4x4 Chassis. It is equipped a 350HP Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Engine mated to the rock solid Torque-Shift Automatic Transmission. The truck has just under 11,000 miles and is like new. This is the upgraded Lariat Package which has heated leather bucket seats, steering wheel controls, climate control, and many other creature comforts. A fully automatic hydraulic leveling system has been installed and it has an auxiliary navigation system (w/ backup camera) and a flip down DVD player w/ wireless headphones. The cab has NEVER been smoked in and has NO issues whatsoever. Although this unit is a 2008, it was not put into service until 2010. The state of the economy in 2008 and 2009 was tough on the RV industry, so this unit sat on a dealers lot for 2 years before it was sold. A gentleman located about a 100 miles north of me purchased the unit from a dealership in Twin Falls, Idaho. He used the RV on occasion with his wife and 2 young daughters, but like many RV owners, their hectic schedule conflicted with RVing.
