2011 Brenderup Baron L-TC. I have used very little over the past few years. My 2 large warmbloods love to load into it. It is easy to hook up to the truck. This trailer is super lightweight and easy to haul. If you aren't familiar with Brenderup horse trailers, do a little researching and you will see what great things people have to say about them. They are made of fiberglass on a galvanized steel frame - making them just as long-lasting and even lighter weight than aluminum trailers. You'll also find that you don't see many used Brenderup trailers on the market. Once people have them they don't usually part with them! The slanted back is designed to reduce aerodynamic drag as the vehicle increases speed. The trailer also has good tires and a spare. The ramp lifts extremely easily, thanks to two assist struts, it takes surprisingly little effort to lift by a single person. The 5 foot rubber matted ramp is longer than other brands. I have had large horses stand with all 4 feet on the ramp without a problem. The ramp mat has integrated toeholds for good grip as your horses go on and off the trailer. Once the ramp is lifted closed, the top back storm door can either be left open for added ventilation or closed during rain or cold weather. Inside the trailer there are big 5-way opening windows near each horses head. These trailers are very well ventilated and cool inside. It also has a stationary window in the front center, allowing additional light in. These trailers are very inviting for even hesitant or tough loaders. The loaded tongue weight is about 250 lbs. (Compare to 400-500 lb. loaded tongue weight for a typical 2H BP). Brenderups feature a sophisticated chassis design that doesn't require a heavy tongue weight for directional stability. Brenderup trailers have been in production since the early 1950s and they've been here in the US since the early 1980s, so the design is well proven. The Prestige features Brenderups inertia mechanical brakes, which don’t require you to have a brake controller in the tow vehicle. As the tow vehicle decelerates, Inertia brakes apply braking force automatically in proportion to the load in the trailer. Very simple and effective. The inertia braking system makes towing very easy. I can hardly feel the weight behind my truck when my horses are loaded. All exterior and interior lights are working and very bright. The trailer is surprisingly well lit for nighttime loading.
