The Airstream Argosy 26” BUY NOW THESE ARE APPRECIATING IN VALUE and have a worldwide following; in fact, many are purchased here and shipped to Europe to be enjoyed. The Airstream Argosy 26” Motor Home is one of the RAREST collectible Airstreams made post 1960! This size was only made 1 year and in very limited production. “RUBY”; as she was named by her first owner, is one of these units and has many of the options offered that year. We have been gradually putting her back in shape mechanically, electrically and cosmetically and have also been enjoying her in between times traveling many miles with her to much fascination from the public! She is always a hit in any campground and is probably the perfect design for truly long distance travel - big enough to accommodate three people (four with a blow up mattress) and yet with only two axles SAVES BIG DOLLARS AT THE TOLL BOOTHS!! Plus she gets 13 miles to the gallon (on regular gas) and more if you stay at 55mph! “RUBY” is blessed with the even rarer “Panoramic” rear windows which offers an unbelievable view onto the world at any exciting destination or along the way. She has an A/C that will freeze you and we just completed replacing the dash A/C which never works on these units - but hers does now! She has brand new rear shocks, needs the front shocks replaced at some point and has six BRAND NEW LIGHT TRUCK TIRES that are self-balancing! She has brand new indoor outdoor carpeting throughout the cabin, a central vacuum, new built in Samsung Convection Microwave, a Dometic 3-way Refrigerator/Freezer, a Onan 3.6kw generator that is freshly serviced and works well, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt transmission, freshly redesigned interior with extra storage, comfy bucket driver and passenger seats, a wonderful new bench seat surrounded in real teak with storage under and custom trash slide out and storage unit to the side. This unit also has a granite top side table for the sofa when relaxing. “RUBY” has a power booster on her antenna which brings in amazing television programming to enjoy when relaxing. She has the ability to have an awning but we will leave that to the new owner. She sits on the proven Chevy P30 truck chassis but still has a comfortable ride thanks to the power steering and upgraded shocks. In addition; as she has a POWERFUL 454 engine, she can easily tow a car or a trailer to carry equipment and supplies! Her CUSTOM trailer hitch was professionally installed and reinforced to handle a boat although she has never towed one as the boat we bought was way too big! :-)“RUBY” is not a perfect motor home; as the pictures represent, but she is usable until someone wants to complete her restoration. She does have under-carriage rust (they all do) and we are gradually addressing it. Frankly, at some point we would take her body off the frame and completely restore the frame and at the same time have her either polished to that brilliant shine or have her repainted which the Argosy’s were originally. These Airstream Argosy’s are just a wonderful way to travel or even live full time. Simple to repair, easy to handle, can almost fit in a standard parking space, self contained (add solar and go completely off the grid) and also have a charm that you actually fall in love with them and so do those around you! This is our second one and we hate parting with her but we have to focus on other things at the moment including finishing our boat! As we are designers we could also assist the new buyer in completing her restoration if desired which could be negotiated separately. We estimate that finished this unit would sell for around $50,000 and these are becoming as collectible as vintage American cars! The vehicle is located in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida and can be seen with 48 hours notice. Upon purchase a nonrefundable $1500 deposit is required and the unit is considered sold.
