ARCTIC FOX 25R 2009 COMFORTABLE WILDERNESS TRAILER An Arctic Fox Classic is an all-weather, off-road rated travel trailer that is basically unchanged in over a decade. It was my choice for wilderness camping the Western U.S. and it proved ideal: an honest all weather, off-road, well-built trailer that lived up to all of my demands. I towed it approximately 3000 miles throughout the western U.S. behind a 2012 Toyota Tundra, 5.7, a half-ton pickup. I towed about 200 miles on unpaved roads and several miles off-road including Steen Mountain Wilderness and dry lake Alvord in SE Oregon. I drove 80 mph on Montana highways to Fort Peck, over Wyoming’s 8400-foot Teton Pass and through Death Valley. I could remain self-sufficient and self-contained for two weeks with careful management of consumables such as water, propane and tankage. I used air conditioning and heating as desired. I bought the trailer in 2015 and am the second owner, and I’m guessing it was parked most of the time because the generator had only 3 hours on it (now 45 hours). I’ve had two other RVs since 1999. I crossed Canada with a 22-foot trailer from Newfoundland to British Columbia. In a Class C Winnebago I drove from Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico, to the Yukon’s Arctic Circle and on to Anchorage, Alaska, in 2007. Otherwise, I owned cruising sail and power boats for 45 years. I found 25 feet is a good length because I could get into (and out of) places bigger RVs cannot. I’ve driven roads that perhaps you shouldn’t take trailers on. Some national and state parks restrict RVs over 25 feet from access to the most remote campsites. The trailer is for sale, cash, as-is, located in San Bernardino, California.
