Charming 1960's CAMPER. It's a true fixer-upper and will be grateful for the opportunity to travel again! It has been sitting for nearly 30 years and was purchased for gold mining trips to the rivers in Northern California. The cabinets and walls are wooden (painted white) and there is a window above the kitchen sink and in the bathroom, 6 windows total. The door also has a window. The windows open in levels with a winding crank. The table and refrigerator were in the camper up until a couple of years ago. There is a stove in the camper, however, it has been so long since this camper has been in use, all of the lines need to be checked for repairs. The carpet is not new and needs to be cleaned or replaced. There is a utility trailer that this camper is setting on and it is available with the camper. The Avion C-10 fits best on the trucks with an 8 foot bed made around the same year as the camper (1966). The camper does not require a license plate, there is a plate light located to the right of the camper door when it is setting on the back of a truck. This camper needs a new door lock, a new refrigerator, and the electrical lines should be checked for repairs. The water lines and propane lines will also need to be checked for repairs. The cushions inside will need to be replaced. This camper is 50 years old and needs a lot of TLC. It is a unique camper because it is fully equipped and can set on the bed of a 4-wheel drive truck. This Vintage 1965 Avion C10 Truck Camper is in great condition. It has a couple dents in the back and a broken tail light, there is also a missing vent conversation over bed. It has a spacious shower / toilet. There are some minor cracks on the inside panels. It has some newer cushions that need to be cleaned because of water that has come through the open vent over cab area. There is a working stove and heater. Vintage 1974 20ft Avion Cayo MOTOVATOR Motohome The AVION is a close relative to the AIRSTREAM & STREAMLINE travel trailer families. Although Airstream is by far the most well known brand in aluminum trailers, many knowledgeable individuals consider Avion of the 1970s and 1980s to be superior in construction quality. The AVION CAYO MOTOVATOR is a Class C Fully Contained Motorhome. Manufactured by Avion. Only 600 were made making them quite rare especially in this condition. The Avion Co began making pickup campers in 1965. After the Avion travel trailer division was sold to the Fleetwood Corp in 1967, the Cayo family continued on producing pickup truck campers & in 1971 introduced the Motovator, precursor to the modern Class C. Available in 20- and 22-toot models, the Motovator featured an anodized aluminum shell [sporting a 13-panel rear cap design so familiar to owners of mid-'50s Airstream trailers] and metal framing which allowed the mini-motorhome to maintain its structural integrity. These units were produced with a lifetime warranty from the factory. Originally available on a Dodge one-ton chassis with a choice of a 360 cid or 318 cid Dodge, 350 CID Chevy or 302 CiD Ford V-8 engine, the Cayo carried a dry weight of 8,245 pounds [20-foot model]. The spacious interior [6 feet, 8 inches, floor to ceiling and 7 feet, 7 inches wall-to-wall] was fitted with most conveniences then available, including maple hardwoods, a dual-battery charging system with 30-amp converter, 22,000 BTU forced-air gas heating system and sizable 5 cubic-foot refrigerator. Options included an auxiliary gas tank, 2.5Kw AC generator, roof rack and ladder, Therma San waste incinerator, water purifier and 10,000 BTU roof-mounted air conditioner [which raised the height to nearly 10 feet]. The 52-inch cabover configuration offered sleeping arrangements for four. If you've been searching for that great vintage aluminum RV then you may have just found it.
