Transom to Bow Eye measurement: The Transom to Bow Eye measurement is the most critical in sizing a trailer for boat length. It is very important that this measurement is accurate when fitting a boat to the correct boat trailer. Please note that the correct transom to bow eye measurement is not the measurement from the tip of the boat to the back of the boat. The measurement should begin from the bow eye (the hook to where your winch cable will hook to) to the back of the transom (back of the boat). The Transom should not include the motor or the steps on the back of the boat. Measuring the Width of a boat: It is important that you measure the greatest outside width of the boat. In order to get the most accurate measurement, you must get inside the boat and measure from one side of the boat to the other side. This is an important measurement for larger boats and custom boats. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: The total weight of your boat, engine, fuel, batteries, water, gear and trailer must not exceed the trailer Groos Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Over-loading can cause serious injury or property damage. Note: Maximum load carrying capacity is the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) less the weight of the empty trailer. The key to trouble-free trailering is properly matching the boat and the trailer. A proper match is one in which the trailer is designed and built to carry the full weight of your boat, engine, gear and which provides proper support for the boat hull. How do I decide if I want an aluminum or galvanized trailer? Aluminum Boat Trailers: All Dolphin Boat Trailers are made with Aluminum I-Beams. We take pride in our products and we want to make sure that our customers do as well. Aluminum frames are very strong and are found to be pleasing to many owners. Some choose aluminum boat trailers over steel boat trailers as a weight saving measure. Others prefer Aluminum Trailers because they are less likely to corrode or rust. Aluminum trailers are lightweight and durable. They are an excellent investment and they have a long life expectancy. Dolphin's Patented Aluminum I-beam with Non-slip Surface. We use a custom made I-Beam that includes many features that no other boat trailers have. Our Aluminum I-Beams have ridges protruding from the surface. This gives the I-Beams a non-slip surface. We also use a custom brake line channel that is built into the I-Beams. This serves as a safety channel for all wiring and brake lines. Galvanized Boat Trailers: Steel is strong and durable, but it is not ideal for boat trailers due to its lack of resistance to corrosion and rust. Once a boat trailer begins to rust it becomes dangerous for the boat that it is towing. We want our trailers to remain safe for the customer and the customer's boat for as long as possible, which is why we choose to use Aluminum I-Beams.

We want our trailers to remain safe for the customer and the customer's boat for as long as possible, which is why we choose to use Aluminum I-Beams. How do I decide if I need a bunk or roller trailer?*ROLLER PACKAGE, SELF ADJUSTING BUNKS & POLY SLEEVES ARE NOT OFFERED ON WINDLASS MODELS. Bunk Equipped Trailers: One of the main advantages of the bunk trailer is that it is easier to maintain. Bunks provide good support for boat storage if adjusted optimally. It is also easy to load onto a bunk trailer but it may require more than one person to secure the boat onto the trailer. Bunk trailers do tend to require little adjustment once set for a particular boat. Bunks are also known to cause less pressure points on the hull of your boat. Self-Adjusting Bunks: *DOLPHIN BOAT TRAILERS RECOMMENDED These are bunks that lay flat and adjust to make 100% contact with the hull of your boat. This avoids putting any pressure points on your boat. These bunks also rivet back and forth allowing the boat to adjust properly onto the trailer. When the bunks move back and forth it makes it easier to launch and load onto the trailer. Self-Adjusting Bunks with Poly Sleeves *DOLPHIN BOAT TRAILERS RECOMMENDED Poly Sleeves are placed around the bunks instead of carpet. One of the main advantages of poly sleeves are that the running gear, such as the springs, hubs, brakes etc does not have to be submerged because once these sleeves get slightly wet, your boat will slide right on and off the trailer. This is a benefit, especially in salt water, because salt water can cause corrosion to the trailer. These sleeves will not stick nor rust, like a roller kit might, which gives the customer confidence that the boat will not be damaged. Roller Equipped Trailers: We do not offer roller packaged for models over 5,500# Rollers offer quick roll-off launching and drive-on loading. Rollers are the ideal system for those launching and loading in poor conditions. It is also preferred if you launch and load alone. Please note that you must check with your local boat dealer to confirm that your trailer may travel on a roller trailer. Not all boats are designed to withstand the pressure points that a roller trailer may cause. **We do not like to recommend roller kits. Rollers are sometimes unpredictable and not as easy to maintain. If one of your rollers stick while loading or unloading, it can scratch the hull of your boat. If one of the rollers pop off then it can place a hole in the bottom of your boat. New Jersey is currently trying to outlaw roller trailers due to the hazards that they produce. Step Hull Trailers: Boats with a step hull require bunk trailers. In order to properly build the trailer to fir the customers boat; we must have the correct measurments of the steps. The trailer will then be custom made per specifications provided. Slight adjustments may be required. Add additional $250 for step hull bunk trailers. PLEASE SPECIFY THE TYPE OF BUNKS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE ON YOUR TRAILER IF YOU WOULD PREFER NON-STANDARD BUNKS. YOU CAN SPECIFY BY SENDING US A MESSAGE OF CALLING US DIRECT. Will my trailer be equipped with drum or disc brakes? Dolphin Boat Trailers include disc brakes on all axles, except for the Oasis 3,000 model. How long will it take to build my trailer? Build times vary based on the volume of orders received. Please ask an authorized Dolphin Trailer representative for more information. What is required to begin building my trailer? Because we build custom trailers, we require a 75% deposit to begin building your trailer. This deposit will cover most of the parts required to complete your trailer. Do you provide shipping? No, we do not personally ship your trailer. However, we have contacts with several shippers that provide competitive rates. We can assist all of our customers with shipping their trailers WORLDWIDE. How do I register my trailer? We will provide the paperwork required for you to register your trailer at your local dmv. What paperwork will I receive with my completed trailer? We will issue a Bill of Sale, Manufacturers' Certificate of Origin (MCO) and a paid invoice. Will we have a temporary tag for you? No. Dolphin Trailers is a manufacturing company. How much does shipping cost? Shipping costs vary. Please contact us directly for a free custom shipping quote. You may also visit our website and fill out the form for a free custom quote. We are unable to supply temporary tags for your trailer. Can I get the paperwork to register my trailer before the trailer is completed? Yes, but full payment is required before we can issue a VIN number. Are deposits refundable? Deposits received are refundable if requested within 3 business days of initial transaction. Also, some of the bunks in the pictures are for a step-hull boat. Step-hull bunks are an upgrade. Please Note: These are BRAND NEW trailers for sale. NO boat included! (609) 784-8637 WE CUSTOM BUILD QUALITY TRAILERS TO FIT ANY BOAT! MESSAGE OR CALL TODAY FOR ADDITIONAL MODEL DETAILS! UNBEATABLE PRICES! How do I determine the correct capacity trailer for my boat? MESSAGE OR CALL TODAY FOR ADDITIONAL MODEL DETAILS! UNBEATABLE PRICES! How do I determine the correct capacity trailer for my boat? How do I decide if I need a bunk or roller trailer?
