I recently purchased this Vetter Terraplane & the attached 1980 Yamaha XS100 Midnight Special out of northern Minnesota where it had been sitting since 2002. The Yamaha Midnight Special is NOT INCLUDED in this auction. Mileage showing on the bike is 7,995. The side car has been on the bike since they both were new. The son of the owner actually disconnected the sidecar to learn how to ride a motorcycle & take the driving test. So this sidecar has well under 8,000 miles on it. Terraplane VIN # is 07-100380. Has the optional Airheart brake system on the sidecar. All of the original graphics are intact & look really nice. I see no damage or repairs anywhere. Slight scuffing with light scratches here & there. Black gelcoat is dull due to age. Original tire with no visible cracking although I certainly would change it out before using the sidecar. Also includes the original key to the locking storage area behind the seat back. Original Owner's Manual & Supplement, as well as mounting instructions for Yamaha XS1100 & Kawasaki KZ1100. Original Vetter Terraplane cover. And finally, included will be the mounting hardware & wiring pigtails that attach the Terraplane to this motorcycle. I am sure this is one of the nicest surviving original unmolested Vetter Terraplanes left. I am not sure what it is really worth.
