When not using the bed hit the switch and it retracts to the ceiling! If you have kids/grandkids you might be able to sleep 2 kids on each couch that converts to a bed - sleeping a total of 6. We dont have kids so we havent tried it. Hauling: We hauled kayaks and they fit fine. Our tape measure says the vertical clearance is 7ft 5in; Front to back along the left wall has 11ft 8in from back door to the wardrobe wall; 15ft 8in distance from the Front kitchen counter to the rear door. Rear door has screen/plastic drop so if its beautiful -use the screen. If it is too hot or too cold - use the plastic for all season comfort & still enjoy the view of the great outdoors!
