The Hitch Helper Motorcycle-Carrying Trailer Hitch is supported by a torsion bar axle with suspension travel to accomodate any normal on-road use. (We also build long-travel articulating suspensions for off-road use) You tell us what you need and we can make it!! Hitch Helper carries all of the weight of the Motorcycle (up to 1000 pounds) and also supports 70% of the trailers tongue weight so your hitch and vehicle doesnt have to. Normal trailer hitches are rated for 500-1000 pounds of max tongue weight and most new vehicles rear suspension will not support any more than that. The Hitch Helper acts as a tag axle to your vehicle and supports your existing rear suspension. It is technically a supported hitch, again meaning that it is an extension of your vehicle. It is not a trailer. It is not a tow dolly. This means that you do not need to register the hitch helper, plate it or insure it, unless you wish to. The Hitch Helper may be used with our without a motorcycle on the rack, with or without a trailer behind it, and any combination of those. If you have a vehicle with plenty of engine power and brakes but lacking on rear suspension, this is Perfect!! Anyone with a Race Car Trailer, Bumper Pull Horse Trailer, Toy Hauler or an Airstream Trailer - This is a must! SOME KEY POINTS: 1. It is great for using an SUV to take your Bike and your Boat at the same time. = No longer do you need a pickup or a second vehicle to take your toys camping or boatingSuburban or Escalade + your boat + your Harley = great weekend! How about SUV+4 Wheeler+Camper all at once...2. The added axle gives any vehicle increased load bearing capacity. It essentially makes a small import truck or suv tow like a full-size truck. It makes Chevy Suburban and Tahoe tow like an F250. I makes my F350 Tow just like my F550 and it makes my F550 tow like a 650.... No limit to the possibilities 3. Perfect for RV's! Now you can take your Motorhome, a tow vehicle AND a motorcycle! Once you park the motorhome, you can use the Helper with the Tow Vehicle to transport the bike or another trailer. Or Truck, Golf Cart, Camper...Truck, 4 Wheelers, Camper,,,,Whatever toys you have - bring them! 4. If your vehicle has the small hitch, upgrade your hitch - do not modify the Hitch Helper. We do also make a pivot model for using behind a Fifth Wheel RV to Haul a motorcycle and or tow a boat DEMO MODELS: We attend nearly 20 Boat and RV shows throughout the year as well as Motorcycle and Harley events. We have various trucks and SUV's available as well as boats, campers, cargo and car trailers to try out.... We test them just like real customers use them.. PERSONAL NOTE and PRODUCT DETAILS: Hello, I want to Thank You for reading this listing and also for your interest in my product. This is my 10th year building Hitch Helpers and I use these myself at least 100 driving days a year and almost never tow without one. I already have the right vehicles for towing (F350, F450, F550, C2500) but I can tell you with 100% certainty that it makes that big of a difference in the quality of your ride and drive as well as your backing and turning. I built the first one for myself when a Chev 3500 4x4 Dually just wasnt enough truck to pull a 35ft Donzi safely on the highway. I didnt want to buy a nedium duty truck and Hitch Helper was born. Soon after, I began building for friends with race cars and boats as they all had the same problem. Over the years the product has seen continual improvements and its ready for prime time now! We have built close to 500 now. BACKING AND TURNING: The Hitch Helper moves your trailer ball back 2-3 feet from your rear bumper, where it normally is. By doing this, you now have increased clearance between your trailer and vehicle. You can turn as sharply as you can without fear of hitting your trailer and I often make U-turns while pulling trailers with the Hitch Helper without any concern. Backing:: The same principle applies. By moving the ball 2-3 feet back, your pivot point is away from your bumper so know you can turn your trailer 90 Degrees to your vehicle without hitting. It is the most Jack Knife Proof backing you have ever done. This type of turning is why people use fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers - Now you can turn and back a bumper pull trailer just like that!! It really feels awesome the first time you back a trailer into a tight spot 90 degrees on the first try while everyone at the boat ramp or campground is watching you!! You cant put a price on that!! TURNING: For some reason nearly everyones only concern when they first look at my product is turning and backing. Most people think that if the wheels dont turn, they will be torn off the axles or you will flatted the tires at every corner. NOT TRUE WHATSOEVER. This is a Fixed Axle - it does not turn- by design. Not because we cant build it that way, but because we dont want to build it that way. The Axle is 34 Inches wide hub to hub, the same width as your trailer hitch. Since the Hitch Helper wheels are centered at the rear of the vehicle, they follow your vehicle very nicely into turns and corners giving you are smooth safe and stable ride even on the bumpiest of roads. When making a tight turn or backing with the steering wheel turned to full lock, you should use the same rules and when backing any other trailer with multiple axles. -- Get the tires rolling First - then turn steering wheel all the way and you eliminate most all tire scrub. Any other doubts on tire life - just come take a free test dirve. The major complaint of towing a trailer is trailer sway. TRAILER SWAY- By having the Fixed Axle of the Hitch Helper on the ground right at the pivot point (tow ball) where trailer sway is created - we effectively eliminate the sway. The heavier the trailer - the more downforce on the hitch helper - the LESS SWAY. Normally its the opposite. The Hitch Helper also effectively more than Halves the distance from the rear axle of your vehicle to the trailer ball. Stability and Sway Control Through Physics Instead of Sway Bars, Torsion Bars and Chains!! My best pulling setup is 45 Feet and 20K pounds. Without hitch helper - I am all over the road even in an F550. With Hitch Helper, I drive it with one thumb on the wheel and relaxed. No Sway Bars or Torsion Bars needed. TIRE LIFE: The Hitch Helper Tire last for approx 30K miles of towing. How many miles did you pull your boat last year? It is not an issue and it is nothing to worry about. The tires are included in our two year warranty. Everytime I am out towing I try to break it, get a flat, bend something, etc. I can tell you from personal experience of intentionally running over all types of sidewalks, curbs, medians, parking blocks, off the side of boat ramps, that tire life is a NON_ISSUE. If you do lose one - we pay for it. End of Story. Dont buy a Bigger Truck without tryin a Hitch Helper First. Go ahead and buy the bigger boat though - we've got you covered!@ HH
