2002 Fleetwood Discovery 37U 2 Slides The Fleetwood Discovery series has been the perfect choice RV for thousands of campers nationwide. This 2002 marks the first time Fleetwood upgraded the Discovery with a bigger engine and the two slides). The engine was upgraded from the Cummins baby "B" series at 300hp and 680lbs torque, to the CAT 330hp and 860lbs torque. What this means to you is a big boost in performance. The CAT engine produces more horsepower and torque at lower RPM ranges which translates into power you can feel from the starting line to the top of the hill climb. The Allison 6 speed World learning transmission has two overdrives for increased fuel economy and lower revs at highway speeds. ( This is the same engine and transmission package the US Military uses in the Striker armored vehicle! ) The Exhaust brake allows for smooth descents on those big mountains out west, you will notice it working for you even on flatlands towing a heavy load. This unit was the first year to have a floor plan with two slides and the living room slide is very deep. While the bedroom slide allows for an east west full queen size bed. Have dirty clothes? The washer dryer combo is located within easy reach even while traveling a feature not all floor plans have. It will wash and then turn into a dryer meaning when you arrive at your new campsite you will have dry clean clothes. Everything is push button, back into the campsite and the leveling jacks level the coach, the push the slides open and your almost done, power, sewer, water, finished. If you want to open the awning it is fully metal wrapped to keep the canvas awning looking great for years to come.
