Please watch the video above. It shows the trailer in detail and describes the condition completely. This trailer has a few advantages over most other car trailers you will see. Please read through the description and you will see the difference. Fully refurbished, aluminum decking, air ride, air brakes, PTO and self-contained hydraulics, completely painted with heavy duty rubberized bed liner. New stickers and new wiring. Good tires, Aluminum rims, oil bath hubs. Everything works, pulls straight. Clear title. Model 4807 Cottrell is the world leader in the manufacture of car trailers; they make the best trailers. Since the diesel price is so low right now, there's no better time to start a hauling business - you can make real money. This is a hard to find, fully refurbished trailer. In general it is not easy to find good car trailers, and almost all of them that are selling is because they need some work (unless they are basically new). This vehicle has gone through several stages of the refurbishing process. It has also just received new DOT inspection sticker. We completely flushed the hydraulic system last year and replaced with thinner fluid. This helps a lot during the winter period. It is also easy on the pump as well. A couple of weak steel sections were replaced with brand-new same (or higher grade) material. The work was done by a professional welder who has over 20 years experience in the welding business. A couple hydraulic lines were getting weak so were replaced with high-grade, brand-new lines and fittings. The trailer has been cleaned, primed and fully painted using very tough rubberized bed liner. This is an expensive material. It is a very tough paint – check out how it holds up to a hammer in the video! Top deck has nice side walks which really helps when loading wide vehicles on the top, so you don't have to walk on the skinny beam. Every slide section has integrated locks which are very easy and convenient. Being fully attached means you don't have to wonder where the lock pins are put and makes it quick and easy to adjust where you want them while loaded. Cottrell is one of the best trailers you can buy. There are four moving decks and four different height adjustments on the bottom section alone. Overall there are 9 hydraulic controls to adjust 18 pistons. All this means it is one of the most advanced trailer designs that is still very easy to use and super easy to load. It is very important to have flexibility because the vehicles you haul can come in every different size. A standard trailer without different adjustment capabilities will limit the type of vehicles you can haul. You can adjust this trailer to fit many different configurations in order to fit almost any vehicle. This is also a true seven-vehicle trailer. I have seen many advertisements stating they can haul seven cars. Well, most of them cannot load seven vehicles (unless they are all Mini Coopers) but with this trailer you can load almost any combination of 7 vehicles. A 6 car trailer versus 7 car trailer – with that extra vehicle you can carry you will be able to make lots of extra money over time. Also, many trailers this size advertise as 8 or even 9 car trailers. The reality is that you can only fit 8-9 CARS on them, if you haul bigger SUVs or Trucks they are still only 7 vehicle trailers. All the decks of this trailer are aluminum, not only does this make the trailer lighter, but that is also the area that could get the rustiest (because of water and salt from the vehicles). Since they are aluminum they won't get rusty. All the pistons are aluminum as well. They are easy to maintain. Complete rebuild kit is only $22 including shipping. If you need to replace a cylinder in the future, you can buy a brand-new one for just over $200 direct from the manufacture. Aluminum ramps, they are easy to pull out, they won't rust and are lightweight. Advantage of buying a Cottrell car trailer is that you can buy any part for a very low amount and buy direct from the manufacture so you know you are getting the same quality parts it came with new. Cottrell comes from the factory with a complex wiring system. We have rewired the entire trailer with very simple wiring system anybody can trace any light and easily fix it if you need to in the future. It has LED lights all the way around. The suspension has heavy duty air bags which helps give a much more comfortable weight distribution to the tractor while pulling. Air brakes as well of course. And oil lubricated hubs. All tires are in good condition. The trailer pulls straight. All hydraulic pistons work without any leaks. All decks move as they should. The trailer has chain tie downs in both decks. It is easier to use straps for the bottom deck and I can include a brand-new sets of 10 tie downs and straps with the trailer if the buyer prefers to use them. This trailer can run on PTO if you prefer, but it has also been converted to a fully self-contained unit with a fluid reservoir and hydraulic pump. Most trailers are either PTO or self-contained. This one has both, the self-contained unit that was added typically costs well over a thousand dollars to install. The way they installed it kept the original lines so it could be converted back to PTO in 30 seconds. Even though you use PTO, it is important to have this installed, because you are not totally depending on the truck's hydraulic performance to load or unload vehicles. You can load and unload without having the tractor as well. If you're relying on one system and have a problem with that then you will understand how important it is to have a backup hydraulic system. This is a very good trailer. The reason we are selling this – we own an auto dealership and our requirements have grown beyond a smaller independent car trailer like this – we need to upgrade to a stringer. Our prices are usually the best you can find. Just a few years ago the previous owner bought this trailer for over $22,000. Even after we completely refurbished it; we're still asking much less. A nice feature at the front of the trailer is the full aluminum guard (most trailers are open in front). This is the section that is most vulnerable to stuff flying up from the ground and coming off the semi wheels. In this trailer the front vehicle is fully protected by the guard. Within the last month we had the DOT inspection done and put a new sticker. This is very important when you're buying something unseen for multiple reasons: If you buy a trailer without having current DOT you can’t legally tow it. Most importantly you know that a DOT inspector went through the trailer and checked the condition and approved it for use on the road. That gives you peace of mind. We have bought many trailers over the years – and most of them online. To tell you the truth, we never came across a single trailer that was as described when we went to see them. With our trailer, there are no surprises. You can see the entire trailer in the video. When you come to pick it up I will operate all the hydraulics and lights so you can see them working. If you don't like the trailer for whatever reason I will refund your deposit without a question. Serious Bidders Only I have sold trailers before, I always describe everything at my best. I never had a complaint from a buyer. The refurbishing process costs a significant amount of manpower and material. It is not simple or easy. It will basically take a full two days to prep and paint, this particular paint is three times more expensive than regular paint used on the trailer. It is a wise decision to buy a good trailer for a very reasonable price without spending 4x more for a new one. They pretty much do the same work but you have a lot more money to pay back. New 4807 sells for over $70,000 before tax. (I don't have a sleeper semi - but if you're planning to haul short distance, I do have 2 very nice, low mileage day cabs semi trucks for sale as well. If you buy a truck and trailer both I can give you a discounted price.) Please remember - this trailer is 2000. It is not new, don't expect it to be perfect. In the video I have mentioned a few things I have noticed. They don't affect the operational aspects of the trailer. But I would like to be as descriptive as possible. Make sure you have your finances arranged before you bid. Full payment is due within seven days. Deposit of $1000 is due within 48 hours via PayPal.
