The owner custom built this Skoolie for off-grid year-round use and is more of a house than an RV! The floor, walls, and roof are all foam insulated to R-19 (far more than any factory-built unit), and the wood stove makes it usable in cold weather and year-round! The owner used to take it to the ski hill and walk in their sock feet inside with the outside temps down to single digits! It has a Navistar DT466E 220 hp, diesel engine with Allison MT643 automatic transmission! There is an Excel LP Water Heater JSD-10D, and Hydraulic Brakes (No CDL needed). It has high ceilings, a blue pine finish, butcher block counters, a full-size shower and a wood stove! It is all steel + aluminum sides and roof, fiberglass hood. No accidents! The solar array consists of 5 silevo triex R-Series 220W PV Panels, Midnight Classic 150 charge controller, and Samlex-power Pure Sine Wave Inverter 1000W and 600 AH of North-star NSB190FT AGM Batteries. - The bus has a half bath with shower only. - Four back tires replaced in Summer 2022. - Solar installed in Fall 2020. Maintenance records and build records are available for review at inspection time. New Equipment: - New Furrion propane 3-burner cooktop. Model: FGH4Z5A-SS. Stainless steel with cast-iron grate. - New 12V cooler, IceCo brand Model: JP42. This can run as a fridge or freezer either 120VAC or 12VDC. - New storage box on the passenger side, moved the existing propane tank from the drivers side and added a second tank, doubling the capacity. The owner does have a composting toilet insert with urine diverter. NEW made by Separate that is included in sale. There is room for it in the bathroom, he just never got around to installing it. Overview: The build had a focus on simplicity and comfort while making use of a number of locally sourced materials. It is setup to be totally off-grid with large size solar system, water storage and grey tank. It is set up to sleep 5 - a queen-sized memory foam mattress in the back, a folding couch that turns in to full-sized bed and bunk bed that is perfect for toddlers to young children. It features a full-sized shower powered by a tankless propane water heater, butcher block counters that provide a nice kitchen space as well as an area that can double as a standup desk or project center. Copper accented shelves and curtain rods. The wood stove keeps the whole space warm and toasty. Lots of built in storage, great natural light as well as LED lights. The pine ceiling and walls provide a warm rustic feel with lots of color. Mechanical: 2000 International 3800 Bus DT466e- legendary motor build by Navistar. Inline 6 cylinder turbo diesel. They have made these motors for 50 years and the parts are easy to get. They can also be rebuilt in-frame! with MT643 Allison Automatic Transmission- Allison made 2 transmissions for this motor, this is the larger of the two. In early 2020, I had the International dealer in Missoula (Harlow's) pull the original motor and replace it with a motor from AAA Bus in Phoenix which at the time had 65k original on it. (Have paperwork) I also have replaced the fan hub motor and assembly, alternator and some of the sensors in the last year to get this motor running amazingly! All 4 rear tires were just replaced this summer and the steer tires have plenty of tread left- see photos. The 2 batteries were replaced in late 2019 with NAPA Heavy Duty Commercial units, they are hooked up to a 4A trickle-charger that is wired into the front bumper- see photo an there is also a built-in kill switch. It just had a fresh oil change 10/1/21. This bus needs absolutely nothing mechanical done to it. Build: The bus was gutted and renovated as follows... Stripped to metal on floor, walls and roof. Floor was coated with 2 coats of industrial epoxy paint and framed with 2x4s (see photo) and 3/4" plywood and insulated with 3 1/2" of foam board, glued and caulked at the seams and edges. Roof was raised using custom made galvanized hat channel, stainless fasteners and welded. (see photos) The new skin is aluminum (think Airstream) and was professionally done using 3m panel bond adhesive and rivets. Interior was firred out with 2x4s and epoxy coated fasteners and then insulated with 3" of spray foam on the walls and roof, giving an insulation value of R-19. All original wiring for traffic signals and exterior lights are working. Windows are rv style and work great. All of the plumbing is professionally done including drain and PEX supply lines. A 5kw Darwf Wood Stove is installed in a beautiful brick and metal hearth. Custom school locker coat closet, and amazing local blue pine ceiling and walls. We use a Yeti cooler for food storage but the solar system was designed for a frig/freezer that could easily be installed. Bus is wired both AC and 12DC with plugs on both. We left the bathroom design open but have a brand new Seperette composting insert with urine diverter that is included. Custom welded hitch receiver rated at 10,000 lbs, currently houses a 4 bike rack (included). Solar: New Fall 2020 1100w monocrystalline pv panel array (5- 220w wired in parallel) 600 Ah battery bank (12-year carbon plate AMG sealed) 1000w Pure Sine Wave Inverter Midnite Classic 150 Charge Controller Combiner Box allows panels to be tested individually in case of damage This would be a really comfortable setup for a couple working remotely or a small family looking for a mobile housing option. Open to trade/partial trade for a low mileage van or 4x4 crew cab pickup that is 2012 or newer. Also- there are lots of extras not listed: air and oil filters, set of tire chains, leveling blocks, firewood in under storage. Reason for selling is downsizing.
