For Sale: 1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge WB40 - 169,372 Miles - $39,000 I am selling my coach because life circumstances have changed for me and I just can't use her enough to justify keeping her. I would like to see her go to a good home that will be able to use her more often than I can. The Good: I have owned this 'Bird since Oct. 2015. I purchased her from a wonderful couple who frequented the WOG Forum. They nicknamed her "Mauvalous". The coach is in about the same condition as it was when I purchased it from them, just a few more miles and a couple years older. In the time that I have owned her, she has performed wonderfully. Never let me down once. It did develop a small air leak in an airline which I had repaired, other than that no issues. In December 2016 I had a full fluid service done. In December 2016 I replaced the generator fan motor. The generator would not stay on when I purchased the coach. After doing some testing we determined the reason was that the shut off solenoid was doing its job and shutting off the generator before it overheated. The generator fan would always start when you first started the generator but it would eventually stop spinning causing the radiator to receive no airflow. I have started and driven the coach every 3-4 weeks minimum. I was unable to take as many long trips as I had hoped but was able to squeeze a few in. Most of my trips were short, 2-4 hours at most. Since December, after I got her out of service, I have not been driving her because the tags have expired. I don't want to spend the money to register her because I know that I will not have the time to take her anywhere. That being said I have been sticking to my schedule and starting her and driving her around in the storage complex every 3 weeks. I keep her stored in a covered parking space. I keep wheel covers on while she is in storage. I can't remember the exact date but about a year ago I replaced 4 of the coach batteries (Napa) and the generator battery (Napa). It has at least 3/4 of a tank of fuel in it. Most of the lighting has been converted to LED inside. Has a washer/dryer combo machine. She runs like a champ! Everything that is important works flawlessly. Detroit Diesel 8V92 500HP - Beast Runs Great. The Bad: Cosmetically my 1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge WB40 is not perfect. The paint on the caps has started to fade and peel. On the sides the paint is significantly better. The upholstery and flooring in the interior is pretty dated. The cruise control doesn't work. It didn't work when I purchased it and after driving it halfway across the country I decided that I felt safer without it so did not opt to have it repaired. In the last couple years she has not been used as much as she probably should be. Before I purchased her she was lived in full-time. The rear bumper is slightly dented in on the left side - it was that way when I purchased and It is too minor to warrant the repair.
