2015 Winnebago Travato BU259G, The Travato is a Type B RV, built on Ram ProMaster underpinnings. Completely self-sufficient living area. If I wanted to park in the middle of the woods without a power outlet or water hookup, I could. There is a 2,800-watt Cummins gas generator, 21-gallon water tank, and propane-fueled fridge. There is very little the Travato cannot do that your house can. 21 Feet Long, weighing nearly 9,350 pounds, theres a smoothness that the weight and 159-inch wheelbase brings. The steering is nicely weighted, too, making navigating the big body fairly easy. Overall, the 3.6-liter V-6 produces 280 horsepower. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that was always in the right gear at the right time. Life in an RV is more about parking than driving. And this is where the Travato excels. When we arrived at the campgrounds, we pulled through our spot and set up the Travato in about 10 minutes. Water hookup, check. Electric hookup, check. Sewage and gray water hookups, check and check (theyre actually the same hookup). Then all we had to do was let out the powered awning with LED lighting strips and make something to eat. The swiveling front seats one of the key feature. Theres a two-burner stove, a decent-size refrigerator, and an easy-to-use shower. There is lots of storage throughout the cabin that means you can carry everything youd like. Additionally, the Travato can serve multiple purposes. It can make weekend getaways a breeze, and theres the potential to use it on a number of other activities such as tailgating or a short stay at a friends house that is one bedroom short of company.
