2008 FLEETWOOD ICON 24A Icon breaks the mold by combining luxury, fuel efficiency and drivability. With a nimble chassis powered by Mercedes-Benz,® you’ll find it handles more like a fine automobile. While its living quarters are remarkably spacious, thanks to expansive slide-out for a vehicle of this size. However, Icon’s top trait may be its visually arresting style. Nimble. Easy to drive. Quiet. These adjectives are not often applied to motor homes, but they describe Icon perfectly. There’s very little noise or vibration while driving, and the Mercedes-Benz ® diesel engine is practically silent. Icon offers powerful acceleration and responsive maneuvering capabilities. The handling has been enhanced by Adaptive ESP,® technology like this is usually found in luxury performance cars. And while driving Icon is quite enjoyable, its fuel efficiency will really make you smile. • Solid Surface Countertops with Brushed Aluminum Accent. We have had motorhomes since 1975. We purchased this one in 2009 with 8000 miles. We have traveled the USA including Alaska in 2015 and it now has 44,400 miles. Our criteria was the shortest we could find with a queen bed in back and a dinette up front. It has served the two of us very well. We have on occasion used the dinette as a sleeping area for one or two. It has a trailer hitch but we have never used it. The motorhome's size permits shopping and viewing the sites without a problem. It is completely self contained. It carries 50 gallons of fresh water and has large gray and black water holding tanks. It has an 4KW Onan generator with only 94 hours. Before last years trip we added a heat strip to the roof AC and an electric element to the propane water heater. The intent was to use electricity whenever possible and conserve propane. The refrigerator is propane/electric. It switches automatically to electric when available and back to gas when not. It has a 3 burner stove, oven and microwave. There is a lot of storage for a unit this size, both inside and out. We carry an inflatable 2 person kayak and two folding bicycles and there is still room for more. We have gone through the coach to insure everything looks and operates as it should. The automotive AC compressor was just replaced and the Onan generator serviced. We just had the day/night shades replaced at a cost of almost $1000. We installed 6 Goodyear RV tires (over $3000) just before our Alaska trip last year so they have less that 14,000 miles. I believe we have the best value of any of the similar motorhomes listed on this web site, both in price and condition. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
