The Safari Panther was built and designed by Monaco to compete with Prevost coaches. The adds title states the coach as a 425 Panther 4006, it is actually a 4513. This extreamly low mileage coach was the top of the line Safari coach produced. It has been stored in a climate controlled unit in Colorado for its entire life and with only 16,500 miles it is immaculate. An Aqua Hot system was installed giving continuous hot water to the occupants as well as superior climate control efficiency. The Aqua Hot is a invaluable upgrade to any coach and well worth the $6000 investment. The entire coaches audio visual equipment to enclude navigation, self tracking HD satellite tracking system, dual DVR's, TV's and surround sound equipment was replaced to the tune of $12,000 in Aug of 2013. The house and coach batteries were replaced in July 2015. $5000 worth of new tires were installed in November and have a total of 12 miles on them. When this coach was purchased new the invoice reached almost $500,000, so as you can imagine with the base price of $435k this coach is loaded. It has rain sensors on the vents, wind sensors on the awnings, the Aladdin systems monitoring system, no expense has been spared. I am asking NADA value for this Safari Panther and with the over 20k in upgrades and the pristine condition of his coach it is an extremely good value. Bud Cooper was the founder of the WBCCI Vintage Airstream Club. As if nurturing the club wasn’t time consuming enough, he decided to restore an abandoned 1948 Airstream. It was beyond all good reason but as a retired mechanical engineer, he needed to keep his mind busy. This trailer is the result. I was his wingman on the project and his son. It was a great excuse to spend time with my dad. Shortly before my father passed away, a President of Airstream wrote that, “Bud Cooper is the foremost authority on the history and restoration of Airstream trailers.” The photos pretty much tell the story. As you can tell, it is a brand new trailer under an old skin. Here are the specifics - A new substantial frame was designed and built with a new torsion axel, steel wheels, new drum brakes and tires. It has a wet bath with shower, so has fresh water, GREY water and black water system. New hot water heater and propane furnace. Restored original stove, stainless/aluminum kitchen cabinet, sink and ice box converted to gas/12V/110V. New mattress and bed frame at rear. Many of the cabinets are original. It has been kept as close to “period” as possible. Has received innumerable awards, featured in many articles and was a story on the History Channel. This trailer should NOT be just a show piece. It should be camped in and enjoyed. Its super easy to tow, under 3500 lbs all loaded for a weekend trip and more aerodynamic than modern Airstreams. I have enjoyed camping in it for up to 5 months at a time.
